Özet
Kentlileşme Sürecinde Toplumsal Farklılaşma ve Bütünleşme: Mersin İli Örneği konulu bu çalışma kuramsal ve uygulamalı olmak üzere temelde iki bölüm olarak tasarlanmıştır. Bilimsel yönteme bağlı kalınarak öncelikle bir literatür / dokümantasyon taraması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu konunun seçilme amacı kesinlikle rastlantısal değildir. Kentleşme, kentlileşme, toplumsal bütünleşme ve farklılaşma kavram ve süreçleri sadece ülkemizi değil, gelişmekte olan çoğu ülkeyi farklı tarz ve yoğunlukta etkilemekte ve ilgilendirmektedir.Mersin kenti sahip olduğu tarihi, kültürel, turistik özelliklerinin yanında iklimi, coğrafyası, sanayi alanındaki yatırım ve istihdam olanakları, bu bölgelere yakınlığı gibi nedenlerden dolayı çok fazla göç almıştır..Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde konuyla ilgili temel kavram ve süreçler ele alınırken, ikinci bölüm olan kuramsal bölümde kent kuramları ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde; dünyada ve Türkiye'de kentleşme süreçleri ve sorunları ele alınmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde; Mersin'e ilişkin genel bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Beşinci bölümde; araştırmanının metodolojisi, evren ve örneklem seçimi ile ilgili bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Altıncı bölümde araştırmanın uygulama kısmıyla ilgili bulgular SPSS (Social Package for Social Science) 15.0 paket programıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Bulguların sunumu düz tablo ve çapraz tablo biçiminde ele alınmış, istatistikî analiz olarak ise X2 (ki-kare, chi-square) analizi ve varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin varyans analizinde çeşitli özelliklerine göre farklılıkları iki kategorili değişkenlerde Z testi ile; ikiden fazla kategoriye sahip değişkenlerde ise tek yönlü Anova analizi ile incelenmiş, bulguların yorum ve değerlendirmeleri yapılmıştır.Yedinci ve son bölümde; çalışmanın genel değerlendirmesi yapılarak Mersin'deki kentleşme sorunlarına ilişkin öneriler geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır.

This study whose subject is `Social differentiation and becoming a socially united whole in the process of urbanization: A case study of Mersin? has been designed basically as two parts which are theorey and applicaiton parts. Being committed to the scientific method, firstly a literature and documentation research has been carried out. The aim of the selection of this subject is never a random choice. The concepts and prrocesses of urbanization, human beings? becoming urbanized, social differentiation and becoming a socially united whole concern and affect not only our country but also most of the developing countries in a variety of ways and intensities.The city of Mersin has been the acceptor of a great intensity of immigration because of some reasons such as its historical, cultural and touristic qualities, its climate and geography, the possibilities of investment and employment in the field of industry and its closeness to these regions.In the first part of our study, the basic concepts and processes related to the subject have been studied, and in the second part, which is the theoretical one, the theories of the city have been taken up. In the third part, general information about the city Mersin has been given. In the fourth part, the methodology of the study, the infirmation about the selection of the universe and samples has been explained. In the sixth part, the data related to the applied part of this study has been evaluated by SPSS (Social Package for Social Science) 15.0 packet programme. The presentation of the data has been done by flat and cross tables, and in the statistical analysis, X2 (chi-square) analysis has been used. In the varient analysis of the data, their differences according to various characteristics have been studied using Z test for the variables with two categories, but for the variables with more than two categories, they have been analysed using one-way Anova analysis. After these analyses, the interpretations and evaluations of data have been carried out.In the seventh and the last part, the general evaluation of the study has been done and the recommendations about the urbanizaitonal problems in Mersin have been tried to develop.
