Acaristan waz first conqueret by Melik nşhah (1072-1092) the great Seljuck Sultan. With the collap se of the state this region waz last, Trabzon governor, Şehzade Selim, raided Acara re gion, but could not confer this region With 1578-1590 ottoman-îran war, Acaristan became a part of Ottoman Em- pire Acars raided to Eussian borders there became discus sions betwen Ottoman Empire and Russia because of these raids Sometimes Ottoman Empire banished these raids, but this coult nat stop Acara Raids. Acara people fought against Russians during 1828- 1829 Ottoman-Russian war. Russian general Paskeviç had a great difficulty wit Acara soldiers. He sent a letter to Ahmed Pasha of Acara to see them on his side but could not 'get possitive response. The fact that Acars were brave and warlike f ered him. In February 1829 Ahmed Paşa of Acara went to Ahxska Russians were thrilled by this action be cause it was winter and it waz hard to send forces to A- hiska in winter. In spite of all these difficulties Acara soldiers could not be successful General Paskevic's forces beat them.
