Özet
important effects of gamma ray doses has been witnessed in the number of capsules on the stem. As the result of selection, considerable amounts of lines which were found to be high in seed yield were reserved for retrial on the M3 generation. Effects of mutation on the number of plants living at harvest and on properties of thousand seed weight have been observed. A lot of lines of plant primarily early maturing and having high seed yield by effects of gamma ray doses have been selected for later presentation of variety specimens to be seen in later generations. ABSTRACT Masters Thesis THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT DOSES OF GAMMA RAYS TREATED THE SEEDS OF SUMMER RAPE VARIETIES (Brassica napus ssp. oleifera L.) Hazım EMİRO?LU Prof.Dr. Ahmet ERAÇ The study has been conducted in 1991 at the University of Ankara, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agronomy. In the research variations in plants caused by application of gamma rays at 5 different dosage levels to Tower and Semu 209/82 RH of summer rapeseed species have been studied and observed. In respect to the characteristics considered, gamma rays applied at different doses have created significant amounts of changes on the M2 generation. Particularly the gamma ray doses applied to rapeseed plant for the purpose of early maturity criterion have made stimulative effect on rapeseed plant. As the result of this, early flowering lines were obtained in reference to the control plant. Additionally, an increase in the number of branches on stem was observed and affirmative results regarding number of seeds in capsule have been obtained, contrary to Mj generation. Not any -iii-important effects of gamma ray doses has been witnessed in the number of capsules on the stem.
