Özet
Cinsiyet bağlamında ötekilik kavramı, sanatın bir konusu olarak 1960'lı yıllarda sıklıkla ele alınsa da, bu kavram 1960 sonrasından günümüze kadar bir çok sanatçının problematiği olmaya devam etmiştir. Bu çalışma; sanatın cinsiyet bağlamında ötekilik kavramıyla ilişkisi ve ötekilik kavramının oluşturduğu sorunsalların özellikle 1960 sonrasında plastik sanatlara nasıl konu olduğuna ilişkin bir araştırma olarak nitelendirilebilir. Bu çalışma, cinsiyet bağlamında ötekilik kavramıyla hem sosyolojik hem de sanatsal üretimler açısından ilgili olmamdan dolayı, kuramsal bir alt yapı oluşturma ihtiyacından doğmuştur.Araştırmanın daha anlaşılabilir olması için, öncelikle ötekilik kavramı teorik olarak sosyoloji, felsefe ve psikoloji gibi sosyal bilim alanlarında incelemeye alınmıştır. Buradan hareketle, Bu disiplinlerin birbirleriyle etkileşimi ile şekillenen cinsiyet bağlamında ötekilik kavramının sanatla etkileşimi araştırılmıştır.Konunun merkezi olan 1960 sonrası süreci daha iyi açıklayabilmek adına, öncelikli olarak sanat tarihinin belli dönemlerindeki yapıtlar, cinsiyet bağlamında ötekilik kavramı kapsamında okumalarla açıklanmıştır. Bu çalışmada örnek gösterilen yapıtlar 1960 sonrası süreçteki; feminist kuram ve toplumsal cinsiyet teorisi gibi bağlamlardan referans alınarak seçilmiş ve bu yapıtlar, sanatçıların cinsiyet bağlamında ötekilik kavramını nasıl ele aldığı, kavramın yapıtlara nasıl yansıdığı, hem kuramsal hem de plastik sorunsallar üzerinden incelenmiştir. Edinilen bilgiler ve kaynaklar ışığında, kişisel yapıtlara ait okumalar yapılmıştır.Bu çalışma süresince görülen; cinsiyet bağlamında ötekileştirme sorununun toplumsal ve kültürel olarak hala varlığını sürdürdüğüdür. Dolayısıyla bu kavram günümüzde de sanatın problematiği olmaya devam etmektedir. Sanatın yeni bir düşünme alanı yaratma gücüne sahip olduğu düşüncesinden hareketle; Dünyada ve Türkiye'de bir çok sanatçı cinsiyet bağlamında ötekilik kavramı üzerinden çalışmalarını sürdürdüğü gibi bu sorunun kişisel çalışmalarımın sorunsalı olduğu açıktır. Bu anlamda sanatın politik bir yapılanma üzerinden geliştirebileceği söylem, çözüme dair bir noktayı işaretlemektedir. Böylece, toplumsal ve kültürel kodlamalarla oluşan kavram, sanat kapsamında incelenmeye açılmıştır.

The concept of otherness within the context of gender and sexuality is an issue of 1960?s in a broader sense, however, this concept has continued to be the problematic of numerous artists until today. This study can be conceptualized as a review of the relationship between art and otherness within the frame of gender and how the problematic that stem from otherness become a subject of plastic arts, especially post-1960?s. This study is also an examination of reflection on the concept of otherness ?hand in hand with gender and sexuality- on personal studies.In order the study to be more comprehensive, first of all, the concept of otherness is discussed theoretically under social sciences such as sociology, philosophy and psychology. From this point of departure, interaction of art and the concept of otherness is examined within the frame of gender and sexuality, which is socially constructed by the interaction of these disciplines.In order to give a brighter reflection over the post 1960?s era ? which forms the center of the topic-, art pieces that belong to specific periods of the art history are criticized within the scope of otherness and gender and sexuality. Work of arts which are illustrated in this study post-1960s ; were chosen by taken up references like feminist theory and social sexuality theories and these works, how the artists handle the concept of otherness in the context of the gender, how the concept reflects to the Works all have been examined through both theoretical and plastic problematics. Readings, belonging personel works, are done in the light of obtained information and sources.During this study this is observed that; othering problem in the context of sexuality is surviving as social and cultural. Therefore, this concept still remains as the problematic of the art. Starting with the opinion that art has the power to create a new era of thinking; as many artists in the world and in Turkey continued to work through this concept, it is clear that the problem is the question of my personal studies. By this mean the discourse that art can develop through a political structure, marks a point of solution. Thus the concept consisting of social and cultural encodings, is opened out to be examined within the scope of art.
