İÜ SUMMARY i. In this research, it has been tried to examine the family structu res of the autistic children in our country from the point of sociolo gical aspects..1 Autism, the reason of which is still not definitely known, a disa- bilitiy lasty lifetime. The families which have autistic children feel the problem together with their children even more intensively than them. Because the child not aware of the loneliness he lives in, but the families are in a position to struggle against this loneliness of the child. In the families having an autistic child, relations of the spouses with each other and with their environment are effected deeply from this situation. In this :research, parent's points of view are separa tely evaluated. It's considered that the accepting le^el and the inte rest level of the parents for their autistic child may be differed from each other. In addition, the parents show various reactions when they first know that their child is autistic, and their social life and daily activities are deeply effected from this situation. They get some reactions from the society for their autistic child in the meantime they begin to expect some help from the goverment and the society. In this research, these in-family a(nd out-family affections are inten sively inspected. Further the relations of the centers giving training to the autistic children with the children and their families are exa mined.iv Family is the smallest unit of the society and the problems of the family are directly reflected to the society. The examination of the structure of the families having autistic children and the situations of these children may be helpful in the researchs which may be do ne in the future regarding to the other autistic children groups and teh families of these children belonged to these groups.
