Özet
Tezin amacı; Tarsus?ta Geleneksel Kent Dokusu bağlamında kronolojik açıdan Tarsus?u irdeleyerek, İlçede geleneksel dokuya sahip olan mahallelerden Kızılmurat Mahallesinin dokusu üzerinde günümüz bazında değerlendirmeler yaparak, mahallede önemli bir ulaşım aksı olan Şahmeran Sokağına ait mimari özellikleri inceleyerek, değerlendirmelerde ve önerilerde bulunmaktır. Tez beş bölümden meydana gelmektedir.I. Bölümde; Çalışmanın amacı, bu amaç doğrultusunda yapılan araştırmanın inceleme yöntemi ve çalışmanın kapsamı anlatılmıştır.II. Bölümde; Tarsus? un fiziksel yapısı ve tarihsel gelişimi kronolojik olarakincelenmiştir. Özgün konut mimarisinin içinde oluştuğu çevrenin kent içindeki konumu değerlendirilmiştir. Kentsel dokunun koruma açısından yasal durumu ele alınarak, korunması gereken değerler ve yerleşim dokularından örnekler incelenmiştir.III. Bölümde; Kızıl Murat Mahallesi geleneksel yerleşiminin coğrafi özellikleri, tarihsel gelişimi, sosyo-ekonomik ve demografik yapısı incelenmiştir. Geleneksel yerleşim dokusunun fiziksel özellikleri yerleşim ölçeğinde ve yapı ölçeğinde olmak üzere iki ana başlık altında değerlendirilmiştir. Yerleşim ölçeğinde analiz çalışmaları yapılarak, dokuyu oluşturan yapı türleri belirlenmiştir. Şahmeran Sokak seçim nedeni ele alınarak, Şahmeran sokağına ait silueti rölöve ve öneri restitüsyon çizimleri hazırlanmıştır. Şahmeran Sokağında siluete giren korunması gerekli yapılar için envanterler oluşturulmuş ve mimari elemanlar tipolojik olarak incelenmiştir.IV. Bölümde; Şahmeran Sok. geleneksel yerleşiminin sürdürülebilirliği ile ilgilinedenleri ortaya konulmuştur. Koruma sorunları, sosyo-ekonomik sorunlar, yasal ve yönetimle ilgili sorunlar, fiziksel sorunlar başlıkları altında incelenmiştir.viiiV. Bölümde; Şahmeran Sok. geleneksel yerleşiminin sürdürülebilirliği için öneriler ortaya konulmuştur. Sosyo-ekonomik öneriler, yasal ve yönetimle ilgili öneriler, fiziksel öneriler olarak sınıflandırma yapılmıştır. Şahmeran Sokağı öneri restorasyon çalışması hazırlanmıştır.

The aim of the thesis is to present assessments and recommendations on the architectural properties of Şahmeran Street which is an important transportation axis to the district with the help of examining the street and studying Tarsus in the context of Traditional Urban Texture in Tarsus chronogically and having evaluations refering today on the texture of Kızılmurat District, which?s one of the districts having traditional texture in the town. The thesis consists of five chapters. In the I. Chapter; the purpose of the study and the review of the research method on the scope of this purpose are discussed.In the II. Chapter; physical structure and historical development of Tarsus were investigated in chronological order. The position of the environment where the unique residential architecture took its place is evaluated in the city. Values to be protected and samples from settlement pattern are examined, handling the legal position of urban texture in terms of preservation.In the III. Chapter; geographic features of the traditional settlement, historical development, socio-economic and demographic structure of the Kızılmurat District were investigated. Physical properties of the traditional settlement pattern is studied under two main headings including site scale and building scale. The building types that make up the texture are determined by making analyzes in site scale. Handling the reason for the choice of Sahmeran Street, survey and proposal restitution drawings of the silhouette belonging to the street. Inventories for the buildings to be protected within the silhouette of Sahmeran Street are constituted and architectural elements are analyzed in typological aspect.xIn the IV. Chapter, reasons related to the sustainability of the traditional settlement in Şahmeran Street are put forward. They are examined under the headings of physical problems, Conservation problems, socio-economic problems, administrative and legal problems were of.In the V. Chapter, recommendations for the sustainability of the traditional settlement in Sahmeran Street are put forward. They are classified as socio-economic proposals, legal and administrative recommendations, physical recommendations. Sahmeran street proposal restoration project is prepared.
