Özet
Günümüzde genç işsizliği sorununun sadece gelişmekte olan ülkelerin değil gelişmiş ülkelerin de en önemli sorunu olduğu ve bu anlamda küresel bir boyut kazandığı bilinmektedir. Türkiye'nin sahip olduğu genç nüfus potansiyeli ile avantajlı bir durumda olduğu ancak şu an hala açık bulunan demografik fırsat penceresinden yeterince yararlanamadığı bilinmektedir.Çalışmada öncelikle Türkiye'deki genç işsizliği sorunu ele alınmış ve esas olarak Denizli ilindeki 15-24 yaş grubu genç işsizlerin işsiz kalma nedenlerini araştırmaya yönelik İŞKUR'a kayıtlı 144 genç işsize ve 147 işverene uygulanan anketler sonucunda elde edilen veriler SPSS for Windows paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Alan araştırmasından elde edilen bulgulara göre; genç işsizler açısından ücretlerin düşük olması buna karşın iş yükünün fazla olması, işverenlerin iş tecrübesine önem vermesi ve kendilerinin yeterli tecrübeye sahip olmaması işsizlik nedeni olarak gösterilmiştir. İşverenler açısından gençlerin iş tecrübesine sahip olmamaları, ücret beklentilerinin yüksek olması, okullarda verilen eğitimin iş piyasasının gereklerini karşılayamaması ve istihdamı teşvik politikalarının yetersiz olması ön plana çıkmıştır.

Today, it is widely known that the problem of youth employment is not only a problem of the developing countries; it is also a core problem of the developed countries thus taking on a dimension on the global scale. It is acknowledged that Turkey enjoys a favorable position due to its young population. However it fails to benefit the demographic window of opportunity, which is stil open. In this study, first of all, the unemployment problem in Turkey was dealt with and the data, acquired by the results of the surveys, aiming to study the reasons of the unemployment of young people amongst the age group of 15-24 years in Denizli province and are directed to 144 young and unemployment people as well as to 147 employers that are registered to ISKUR, is analyzed by SPSS for Windows package programme. According to the research results, by youths the reasons of unemployment are indicated as low wages in spite of high workloads, employers place emphasis on work experience and their inadequate experience on jobs. On the other hand, for employers youths lack of work experience, high salary expectations, education system does not meet the requirements of the labor market and insufficient employment incentive policies came to the fore.
