Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, Rize yöresi Rize bezi (Feretiko) dokumasının teknik özelliklerini belirlemek, kullanılan araç gereçler, desen, renk ve kompozisyon özellikleri, dokumayı yapan kişilerin nitelikleri, Rize bezi dokumasının mevcut durumu, tanıtımı için yapılması gerekenleri incelemek ve bozulmadan gelecek kuşaklara aktarımını sağlamak için bir öğretim programı hazırlamaktır. Bu araştırmada, betimleyici araştırma yöntemi kullanılmış ve veriler nicel yöntemlerle (Anket formları) elde edilmiştir. Araştırma, görüşmeyi kabul eden dokuma ile uğraşan 25 kişiye anket formunda bulunan soruların yöneltilmesi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma esnasında dokuyucuların yapmış oldukları rastgele seçilen 40 adet ürün araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen bilgi formu ile incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre; Rize bezi dokuması kamçılı tezgâhlarda dokunan, çözgüsü % 100 pamuk, atkısı ise kendir ipliği olan bir dokumadır. Dokumalar düz bezayağı ve Ajur tekniği ile yapılmaktadır. Rize yöresinde dokuma Halk Eğitim Merkezi desteğiyle açılan dokuma kurslarıyla öğretilmektedir. Dokuma yapanların büyük çoğunluğu 36–40 yaş aralığında olan ev hanımlarıdır. Dokuma ile uğraşan kişilerin daha çok maddi kazanç sağlama amaçlı dokuma yaptığı belirlenmiştir. Dokuma ürünlerinin büyük bir kısmı örtü takımlarıdır. Rize bezi dokumasının ileri kuşaklara aktarılmasına yönelik hazırlanan öğretim programı da bulgular bölümünde verilmiştir. Bu bulgular ışığında Rize bezi dokumasına katkı getirebilecek ve ileride yapılacak bilimsel araştırmalara dair öneriler sunulmuştur.

The purpose of this research is to determine the properties of texturing techniques of Rize cloth ( Feretiko ) peculiar to the region of Rize, to investigate the tools used, patterns, colours, and compositional characteristics, the qualifications of the people doing weave, the current state of the Rize cloth weave, to investigate things to do for its presentation, and to prepare a teaching program so as to ensure that it is transferred to future generations remaining intact. In this research, descriptive research method has been used and this research was obtained by quantitative methods ( questionnaires ) given. This research was conducted through posing questions in the form of survey to 25 people that involved in woving and accepting to interview. 40 pieces of products that had been made by the weavers and selected randomly were researched through an information form developed by the researcher during the study. According to the results obtained; Rize cloth weave is a kind of fabric whose warp thread is 100 % cotton and weft is heme yarn woven on flagellate looms.Weaving is done through flat plain weave and openwork techniques. The art of weaving in Rize region is taught by weaving courses opened with the support of Public Education Centers. The majority of those engaged in weaving are the housewives that are in the age range of 36 – 40.It was determined that those engaged in weaving fabrics do that so mostly for material gain. The great majority of the woven materials are cover ( cloth ) sets. The curriculum prepared with the aim of transferring the Rize cloth weave to the next generations is presented at the findings section.In the light of these findings, a number of recommendations that can contribute to Rize cloth weave ( Feretiko ) and suggestions concerning scientific researches that can be done in the future are presented.
