In this study, the weeds of fields in Pasinler plain and its environment has been investigated phytosociologically in 1987. To determine the vegetation of research area, Braun-Blanquet (1964) method has been used. For this purpose, in 100 quadrats of 40 m2 from 100 fields, the degrees of abundance-cover and sociability and the plant associations of these plants have been determined. The plant associations of the investigated area are as fol". lows: 1. Polygonum convolvulus-Neslia paniculata, 2. Centaurea depressa-Vicia alpestris, 3. Euphorbia virgata-Vicia canescens, 4. Amaranthus retroflexus-Vicia cracca. For the analysis of soil factors which are effective on the formation of the plant associations, the soil samples taken from 0-40 cm depths of the selected quadrats have been analyzed for texture, pH, average percentages of lime, salts and organic matter. Duncan and variance analysis tests have been applied to the results obtained from this analysis. It was found that the amount of salt and lime have statistically significant roles on the formation of plant associations. To understand the effect of climate, the average and extreme values belonging to Pasinler, Horasan and Erzurum climate observation services have been shown on'. the tables and comparimental ombrotermic diagrams have been drawn. The map of the places in which the associations exist were drawn with 1/100 000 scale and the distribution of the associations were shown-by different. signals. The weeds in the research area have been determined in life forms as ~herophytes (50 %), Hemicryptophytes (40.8 %) and Geophytes (9.2 %). the plants belonging to Compositae, Leguminosae, Cruciferae, Gramineae and Boraginaceae were more abundant than others. The number species were between 6-30 where 11, 12, 13, 15, 16 species containing quadrats were found to he more. In the experimental and technical fields, the number of weeds species were less, than the fields where aprinitive cultiva~ tion was made. In the first week of April, the plants of the investigated area and its environment started to germination, even geophytes flowered in the first week of April and seeded. In addition, some plants which have developed systems have been found to be green until the second week of August and September.
