Özet
Bu çalışmada bütçe açıklarının enflasyon üzerindeki etkileri irdelenerek yapılan ampirik çalışmalara yer verilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bütçe açıklarının enflasyon üzerinde oluşturduğu etki ve bu etkinin makro ekonomik sonuçlarının tespit edilmesidir. Çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölümde, bütçe açığı, enflasyon ve benzeri temel kavramlar açıklanmıştır. İkinci bölümde, bütçe açıklarının nedenlerine, finansmanına, makro ekonomik etkilerine ve enflasyon ile ilişkisine yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın son bölümünde Türkiye'de bütçe açığı ve enflasyon ilişkisi incelenerek genel değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma ile bütçe açıklarının finansmanı sonucunda para arzında genişleme meydana geldiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu durumun, uzun dönemde enflasyonist etki oluşturabilmesi ihtimaline karşın, bütçe açıklarının azaltılması önerilmiştir.

The study examines the impact of budget deficits on inflation in the light of empirical works. The research aims to find out the effects of fiscal deficits on inflation and its macro-economic results. The work comprises three chapters. The first part deals with the terms such as budget deficit, inflation etc. The second is attributed to the reasons lying behind the fiscal deficits, its financing, macro-economic effects and its relation with inflation. The last examines the budget deficit and inflation in Turkish fiscal system with a general outlook. The study has revealed that the financing of the fiscal deficits caused to the increase of monetary supply. The research has suggested that the budget deficits be reduced as the increase of the money flowing in the economy may lead to the inflationist effects in the long term.
