Özet
ÖZET İnsanlarda hastalık oluşturan Trchomonas vaginalis protozoonu ile termit sindirim sisteminde barınan Trichomonas türü protozoonlann immunobiyolojik benzerliklerini araştırmak için başlattığımız çaUşmalanmızda önce İzmir ve civarından termitler toplanmış ve incelemeye alınmıştır. 1. Toplanan termitlerin morfolojileri araştırılmış ve cins tayinleri yapılarak bunların Kalotermes ve Reticulitermes cinslerine ait oldukları saptanmıştır. 2. Termitlerin yaşanılan, morfolojik özellikleri özellikle sindirim sistemi ile ilgili fizyolojik özellikleri kaynak bilgiler incelenerek araştırılmış, termitlerin selüloz smdiriminde barsak içeriğinde bulunan protozoonlann metabolizmasından faydalandıklan açıklanmıştır. 3. Termit barsaklanndaki protozoonlar diseksiyonla elde edilmiş, boyanarak morfolojik yapılarına göre cins tayinleri yapılmış ve bir kısmı besiyerlerinde üretilmiştir. 4. Besiyerinde üretilen termit Trichomonas cinsi protozoonlardan IFAT'de kullanılmak üzere antijen preparatlan hazırlanmıştır. 5. İnsanlarda hastalık etkeni olabilen protozoonlardan T. vaginalis, G.intestinalis, T.gondii ve L.donovani'ye karşı oluşan özgün serum antikorlan ile termit kültür antijenlerinin immunobiyolojik benzerlikleri IF AT kullanılarak araştırılmıştır. 6. Alman tüm sonuçlara göre termit Trichomonas'lanmn insanda hastalık oluşturan T. vaginalis ile ve diğer protozoonlarla immunobiyolojik benzerliği veya antijen yapılarında benzerliğin bulunabilmesi için yeterli pozitif serolojik sonuçların elde edilemediği, düşük titrasyonlarda alman pozitif sonuçlann özel olmadığı kanısına varılmıştır.

SUMMARY During the investigations on the immuno-biological relations between Trichomonas vaginalis, a causative agent of a human disease, and Trichomonas sp. living in the intestine of termites. Termites were collected from Izmir and surrounding area. 1. The genus of these termites were determined according to their morphological characteristics. They belong to the genus of Kalotermes and Reticulitermes. 2. The literature were reviewed on the physiological and morphological characteristics of these termites. It is reported that the metabolism of the protozoa, living in the termites intestine, is helping the digestion of cellulose taken by termites. 3. The protozoa were obtained by dissection of termites and the genus of these protozoa were determined by both staining and morphological structures. Some of these protozoa were cultured in culture media. 4. Antigen slides were prepared with termite Trichomonas which were obtained from the culture media in preparing antigen slides for Indirect Fluorescence Antibody Technic (IFAT). 5. The immuno-biological relations between the specific antibodies of protozoa ( Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia intestinalis, L.donovani and Toxoplasma gondii ) which cause diseases in human and termite antigens derived from the culture were investigated by IFAT. 6. Since there was no enough positive results in our serological studies to support the antigenic similarities between termite Trichomonas and other human protozoa which were caused diseases in human, we come to a conclusion that positive results in the low titers were not specific for this similarity.
