Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaöğretim 11. sınıf Fizik dersi Elektromanyetizma ünitesinde 7E modeline uygun olarak geliştirilen ders materyalleri uygulamalarının öğrencilerin kavramsal başarılarına etkisini incelemektir. Çalışma, 2011–2012 eğitim-öğretim yılının 2. döneminde bir ortaöğretim okulunun 11. sınıfında öğrenim görmekte olan farklı iki şubedeki toplam 52 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma, eylem araştırması deseninde yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın verileri; çalışma sayfaları, kavram haritaları, açık uçlu ve çoktan seçmeli kavramsal başarı testi, gözlem ve görüşmeler yoluyla toplanılmıştır. Ayrıca sınıf içi yapılandırmacı 7E etkinlikleri kamera ile kayıt edilmiş ve bu kayıtlar ile sınıf ortamı araştırmacı tarafından betimlenmiştir. Kavramsal değişim ve gelişim sağlamak amacıyla deneysel etkinliklere dayalı geliştirilen çalışma sayfaları, 7E modeline uygun biçimde hazırlanmış ve uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada, örneklemdeki öğrenciler arasından kavramsal değişimin üst düzey, orta düzey ve alt düzeyde gerçekleştiği 12 öğrencinin 6'sı ile kazanımlara yönelik, diğer 6'sı ile ise sürece ve öğretim modeline yönelik mülakatlar yapılmıştır. Öğrencilerin puan ortalamalarına göre uygulanan etkinlik ve materyallerin, elektromanyetizma konusunda öğrencilerin kavramsal gelişimlerinde etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra, fizik dersinin 7E modeline göre işlenişine yönelik yapılan görüşmelerde de öğrenciler olumlu görüş bildirmişlerdir. Sınıf içi gözlemlerde ve mülakatlarda uygulamanın öğrenciler tarafından benimsendiği ve portfolyo kullanımının motivasyonlarını ve başarılarını arttırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of instructional materials developed based on 7E model on 11th grade high school students' conceptual understanding in the unit of electromagnetism. This study was carried out with 52 eleventh grade students in two classrooms of a public high school at the second semester of 2011-2012 academic year. This study was designed as an action research. The data for the study were collected by means of the worksheets, concept maps, open-ended and multiple-choice conceptual achievement tests, observation and interviews. In addition, in-class activities were recorded by a video camera and analyzed by the researcher. In order to identify conceptual change and development took place, the worksheets, which was developed based on experimental activities, were designed and applied in accordance with the 7E model. In the study, 12 students were interviewed. 6 of the interviews focused on the students' conceptual developments while the rest of the six interviews were about the process and teaching models. The interviewees were selected on the basis of their achievement levels such as high achievers, moderate achievers and low achievers. The findings showed that the materials and instructional design used in this study helped students to achieve at a good level (~76/100) of conceptual achievement. Also, according to the interviews, it is identified that students have positive views about the application of 7E learning model. Classroom observations and interviews indicated that application was adopted by the students and use of portfolios increased students' motivation and achievement.
