Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Gaziantep ilinde yer alan Gaziantep Üniversitesi ile vakıf üniversitesi olan Zirve Üniversitesi'nin eğitim fakültesi sınıf öğretmenliğinde okuyan öğrencilerin bilimin doğasına ilişkin görüşlerinin tespit etmektir. Bu çalışmaya her iki üniversiteden toplam 238 öğrenci katılmıştır. Öğrencilerin görüşleri Aikenhead, Ryan ve Fleming (1989)'da oluşturulan Fen, Teknoloji, Toplum Üzerine Görüşler" VOST (TR) anketi ile elde edilip, SPSS-20 ile frekans ve yüzdelikleri bulunup betimsel analizi yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonunda öğretmen adaylarının çoğunluğunun bilimin doğasına yönelik çağdaş bir anlayışa sahip olmadıkları, cinsiyet bazında kızların, üniversite bazında, vakıf üniversitesi öğrencilerinin ve sınıflar bazında ise dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin daha çağdaş bir bakış açısına sahip oldukları görülmüştür.

Aim of this study is determining the ideas of the students attending at the department of elementary school teaching of education faculty of Zirve University and Gaziantep University taking place in the province of Gaziantep related to the nature of science. Total 238 students from both universities participated into this study. The ideas of students were obtained with the questionary of (VOST)-(the ideas on science and technology and society formed in Aikenhead, Ryan and Fleming (1989). And the percentages and frequencies were found with SPSS 20 and descriptive analysis were done. At the end of this study it has been found that the majority of teacher candidate didn't have a contemporary understanding of the nature of science and in terms of gender, the girls, in terms of type of university, the students of foundation university and in terms of grade level the senior students had a more contemporary view.
