This dissertation examines the implementations of Knowledge Management process and The Hewlett Packard Company Turkey is given as an example for Knowledge Management process and influences in the IT industry in Turkey. By using previous studies and academic journals about the subject, many reasons can be found behind the Knowledge Management applications. One thing is absolutely true about these reasons is shared knowledge in organizations. These have been major reasons of changing the whole strategy instead of sharing knowledge. In the study of knowledge development, it is seen that the Solution Architect Manager at Hewlett Packard Company Turkey plays the vital role for develop shared knowledge in organization. The IT industry has developed significantly between 1995 and 2008. The technological development and foreign IT companies' investments in Turkey affected the strategies of Hewlett Packard Company Turkey in terms of competition. Many foreign brands entered the IT market and increased the competition and the older brands are forced to change their global strategies into local ones through the researches. After long research about the special reasons and the benefits of Knowledge Management in IT industry, results suggest that international players will continue to recreating and redeveloping strategies through each market's cultural, economical, technological features. The researcher hopes the results of this project will enhance her abilities and his chance to either set up her own business in the future or become one of the best knowledge managers in Turkey. The researcher also hopes this dissertation could contribute some valuable thoughts to readers who are interested in this topic.
