The present study attempts to identify the effects of FDI and its entry modes on national competitiveness of Turkey. Although Turkish market has experienced FDI inflow since 1980, there have been great amount of FDI inflow in various forms in recent years. Policy makers have put great attention to attract FDI considering its potential advantages. However, the effects of FDI and its entry modes on national competitiveness of Turkey has not been examined so far. This study explores the effects of FDI and its entry modes on national competitiveness of turkey by analysing relationship between World Economic Forum competitiveness index, and total FDI and its entry modes inflow to Turkey. The results show that FDI has a significant impact on national competitiveness of Turkey, and major contribution is made through greenfield investment. The findings of the study can guide policy-makers in making the comprehensive policies to attract FDI as well as business managers who tend to invest in the Turkey.
