Özet

Bu çalışmada tarihi seyir açısından önemli ve Osmanlı Devleti açısından hayli sıkıntılı bir dönemini ele aldık. Burada 17. Yüzyılın ilk yarısında yaşamış ve Sultan IV. Murad'ın sadrazamı olan Bayram Paşa'nın hayatı, icraatları ve yaptırdığı eserler hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Araştırmamızda temel kaynak olarak kronikler, Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi'nden elde ettiğimiz belgeler kullanılarak, literatürde bulunan diğer çalışmalar ile desteklenmiştir. Bu malzemeler ile hem Bayram Paşa'nın şahsı, hem devlet işlerindeki tutumu ve devrin siyasî, sosyal ve iktisadî durumları paylaşılmıştır. En son paşanın Anadolu'nun muhtelif yerlerinde yaptırdığı eserlere yer verilmiştir.

Özet (Çeviri)

This study deals with a rather difficult, but at the same time crucial period within the history of the Ottoman Empire. The life, activities and contributions of Bayram Pasha, who lived during the first half of the 17th century and became the Grand Vizier of Sultan IV. Murad are explained in a detailed analysis. As the primary source of this study, chronicles and documents from the State Archives of the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey are used and the study is supported with other academic works within the literature. Both the personality and attitude of Bayram Pasha during his reign and the political, social and economic situation and conditions of his times are analysed in the light of those materials. In the next chapter, the social complex that was built in İstanbul for his foundation and the sections of this building are explained in detail. In addition, the significant sections such as madrasah, sheikh and lodge within this complex are highlighted with special emphasise on legendary works related with this social complex. In the final chapter, other works that were built for charity purposes under his auspices in Anatolia and Rumelia. Moreover, the list of his personal belongings during the military expeditions, the list of the horses raised under the auspices of Pasha and a list containing the information on his landed properties are added under the tables section of this study. The appendix section includes some of the photographs of the Bayram Pasha Complex that have survived until today. With this dissertation, it is expected to make a valuable contribution to the biographical studies and other academic studies on this specific era.
