Özet
Müdafaa-i Milliye Cemiyeti, yaşanan tüm acı kayıpların neticesinde ortaya çıkan İttihat ve Terakki iktidarının siyasi fikirlerini ve ideolojisini benimsemiş olan tutumu ile vatansever bir cemiyet oluşturularak mücadeleye devam edilmesi düşüncesinin bir ürünüdür. M.M.C, üç bölümde incelenmiştir. Birinci bölümde, cemiyetin kurulduğu döneme ait bir değerlendirme yapılarak kısaca Müstahfız Cemiyeti'ne değinilmiş ve İngiliz Gizli Servis raporlarına göre cemiyetin kuruluş sebepleri değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti'nden bahsedilerek, cemiyetin kuruluş gerekçeleri, kuruluşu, kurucuları, şubeleri ve oluşturulan heyetlerin faaliyetleri ayrı ayrı ele alınarak incelenmiş, cemiyet nizamnâmesinin yenilenmesi talebi, gerekçeleri ve görüşmeler ile padişahın bu konudaki istekleri ve cemiyetin isminin Müzaheret-i Milliye Cemiyeti olarak değiştirilme talebine karşı cemiyetin yaptığı savunma belgelerle ortaya konulmuş ve değerlendirilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, M.M.C.'nin Balkan ve özellikle Umumi Harp'teki faaliyetleri, yeni bilgi ve belge sunumuyla, cephe ve cephe gerisi bir bütün ve birbirini tamamlar mahiyette incelenmiştir. Bu faaliyetler içerisinde Türk kadınının rolü ve katkısı ile M.M.C.'nin Donanma Cemiyeti ile ilişkilerine bölüm içerisinde değinilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, ise Anadolu'nun işgali ile birlikte Milli Kongre'nin toplanması, M.M.C.'nin diğer kamuya yararlı dernekler ile birlikte kapatılması ve mal varlığına el konulması, kapatma kararında İngiltere'nin rolü belgeler ile değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca cemiyetin İttihat ve Terakki Fırkası ve Teşkilat-ı Mahsusa ile ilişkisinin Divan-i Harb-i Örfi soruşturma ve yargılamalarına yansıması incelenerek, cemiyetin resmi olarak kapatılmasına ve mal varlığının devrine rağmen, faaliyetlerine ismiyle devam ettiği tesbit edilmiştir. Bu bölümde son olarak M.M.C'nin Anadolu ve Rumeli Müdafaa-i Hukuk Cemiyeti'nin teşkilatlanması ve Milli Mücadele'deki faaliyetleri ile vatan savunmasına verdiği destek bir bütün olarak incelenmiştir.

National Association of Defense, is a product of the idea of creating a patrıotıc society to continue the struggle of all the suffering experienced as a result of the losses arising from the Committee of Union and Progress, which has adopted the attitude of the ruling political ideas. National Association of Defense, has been examined in three section. In the first section, briefly referred to the Müstahfız Community According to British Secret Service reports, the foundation of the society is revided reasonably. By mentioning Committee of Union and Progress, also period of the establishment of the community association also made assessment of the institution grounds, organization founders, the activity of braches and created committee examined and evalueted separately based. National Association of Defense related charges are dealt with, the request for renewal of the regulation with grounds and interviews Sultan's request in this matter and changing demands the name of the community as Müzaheret-i Milliye the Association has ben demonstrated with his defense document then, community organization of Union and Progress Party and the relationship between Special Organization the Divan-ı Harb-i Örf-i reflection of the customs investigation an trial were analyzed. In the second part, National Association of Defense and activities in the Balkan and especially in Public War activities front and rear line as discussed and presented with new information and documents. İn this acticvities inside role of the Turkish woman and conribution of woman also evaluated inside the section National Defense Association with Navy Associatin. In the third section, the collection of National Defense Congress with the invasion of Anatolia closure and the league's decision together with the other national public benefit association were examined by Britain's role examined with documents. Moreover by examinig the reflection to the courts of Divan-ı Harb-i Örfi. Also investigating and judgements of relationship between Union and Progress and Teşkilat-ı Mahsusa. Despite transfer of assets community property and the official closure. It was determined that the name of the activity continued. National Association of Defense to make organization Anatolia and Rumeli Defense Law Societies and support for the homeland defense and activities at the national struggle has ben examined as a whole.
