Özet
Resim sanatı canlı bir organizmaya benzer. Tarihin akışı içerisinde şekil ve ruh değiştiren bu eylem, insanın kendini ifade etme biçimlerinden yalnızca biridir. Hıristiyanlık dışındaki diğer semavi dinler tasviri yasaklamasına rağmen, bu uğraş Hıristiyanlıkta hem tarihi hem de dini açıdan önemli bir yere sahiptir. Yahudilerin tüm kutsal kitaplarını içine alan Tanah, Hıristiyanların da inandığı ve İncil'i temellendirdiği kitaptır. Bu nedenle Yahudi kutsal metinlerinde yer alan Âdem, Nuh, İbrahim, İshak, Yakup, Yusuf, Musa, İlyas, Davut ve Süleyman gibi pek çok peygamber Hıristiyanlar tarafından saygı ile anılmaktadır. Ayrıca dinler tarihi açısından güçlü olan bu figürler, Hıristiyan sanat eserlerinin de ana konusunu teşkil eden karakterlerdir. Tüm peygamberler arasında Hıristiyanlar için Musa, İsa'dan sonra en çok saygı gören ve hayatı ilgi uyandıran peygamberdir. Avrupa Resim Sanatında Musa tasvirlerinin konu edindiği bu tez çalışmasında, din ve semavi dinler hakkında genel bilgiler verilip, Musa'nın hayatı kutsal metinlere göre ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca Avrupa Resim Sanatının gelişimi başlangıcından Barok Döneme kadar irdelenmiştir. Bu bilgiler ışığında Musa'nın Rönesans ve Barok Dönemi'nde birçok elit sanatçı tarafından oluşturulmuş yağlı boya tabloları çözümlenmiştir. Musa'nın doğumundan vefatına kadar geçen süreyi kapsayan konular kronolojik olarak tasnif edilmiştir. Ayrıca Rönesans ve Barok Dönemi'ne ait bu resimler, Musa'yı betimleyen en eski eserlerden günümüze kadar yapılmaya devam edilmiş tablolar ile mukayese edilerek ikonografik ve ikonolojik açıdan kavramsal çerçeve oluşturulmaya ve Avrupa resmindeki konumu saptanmaya çalışılmıştır.

Painting Art is like a living organism. This action, which changes shape and soul in the flow of history, is only one of the ways of expressing oneself. Despite the prohibition of the representation of other semitic religions outside Christianity, this occupation has an important place both in terms of history and religion in Christianity. Including all the holy books of the Jews, Tanakh is also the book that Christians believe and base the Bible on. For this reason, many prophets such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Elijah, David and Solomon in the Jewish scriptures are respected by Christians. Moreover, these figures, which are strong in terms of the history of religions, are the main characters of the Christian art works. Among all the prophets, Moses for Christians is the most respected and fascinating prophet after Jesus. In this thesis, which is the subject of the paintings of Moses in European Art, general information about the religion and the semitic religions is given and life of Moses is discussed according to sacred texts. Besides, the development of European Painting Art has been examined from the beginning to the Baroque. In the light of this information, the oil paintings of Moses in the Renaissance and Baroque period were examined by many elite artists. The topics covering the period from the birth to the death of Moses are chronologically classified. In addition, these paintings of the Renaissance and Baroque Period were compared with the oldest artifacts describing Moses and the paintings that were carried on until recently, and tried to establish a conceptual framework in iconographic and iconological terms and to determine the position in the European painting.
