ABSTRACT Turkey's population is one of the rapidly growing population in the world and the health conditions is one of the most important problem of social life. For improving the health conditions the population growth must be strictly controlled. With using family planning programs, the growing of the population can be easily controlled. Among these programs the use öf effective and modern contraception is necessary and which is closely related to educational level. As the educational level rises, families have less children and to bring up them under better conditions. Family planning programs should not only aim at increasing the use of modern methods; they should also focus on the correct use of these methods. This study was planned and carried out in order to determine the knowledge, sight and tendency on family planning methods for the personel and personels wife living in TCDD 6 th region, In addition to this, the reasons of not to handle contraceptives, the relations of not to handle contraceptives, the relations of these reasons with demographic factors and the knowledge about the surgical contraception was studied. Type of study was intervention and sample (515) was randomly selected out of personel and personels wife living in TCDD 6 th regron, from Konya to Nusaybin. Data was collected through interviews and questionnaires, in order to realize the aim of study and the results were classified under four groups, which are as fal lows, 1- Personal knowledge, 2-Family planning knowledge before marrige and during marrige, 3-Tendency to family planning methods in future, 4-Knowledge, srght and tendency about family planning services which given in TCDD 6 th Regroval Health Directorate As a result it was shown that an incrase in the use of modern coutraceptive meth ods Is possible by using suitable educational programs and by giving consultution services in heath directorates.
