62 SUMMARY INTRODUCTION Turkish Insurance Sector, which is very small compared to developed or developing countries, has been considered as secondary to banking sector in the domestic economic system. Government policies about tax regulations and privatization of social security system will play a vital role in progression growth of the sector. What is more it is observed that even insurers themselves have not reached a full comprehension of how critical the function of insurance is. Primary purpose of this work is to develop a model, which analyses the reinsurance parameters in life reinsurance, in order to help decision makers who establish reinsurance plans. Also it aims to provide decision makers with analytical tools as they determine the reinsurance parameters. The sensitivity analysis of important reinsurance parameters using deterministic simulation of a given specific portfolio is the goal that this work is aiming at. Most decisions about reinsurance parameters, are still arrived at using simple rules of thump. In this work's context, one year term life insurance policies' reinsurance plans are studied. The reinsurance treaty type of one year term life insurance policies is mostly surplus type. Therefore the scope is on“Surplus Life Insurance”treaty type. The analyses are limited to a deterministic simulation of a specific portfolio. However, since the input data is representing real life, the model has many implications about current situation in Turkey. As it is restricted with a specific portfolio, one may assume this situation as a lag, to further study. However, the model is in complete parametrical design. Thus, it is possible that one can easily adapt another portfolio and analyze the results. Furthermore, it is also possible that in case one wants to have a simulation study, the flexibility of the parametrical design will enable the student easily fit the inputs of the simulation data and thus analyze the outputs of the reinsurance results.
