Özet
1980 sonrasında Türkiye'de yaşanan toplumsal değişim, siyasi, ekonomik ve sosyal anlamda bir kırılma noktası olmuştur. Darbe sonrası dönem ve liberal ekonomiye doğru giden zemin, bireylerin yaşamında sansür, baskı, güvensizlik, manevi değerlerin çözülmesiyle gelen yalnızlık, ümitsizlik hislerini beslemiştir. Uzun süreli gelecek planlarının yerini, kısa vadeli ve belirsiz bir“şimdi”almıştır. Dönemin yeni söylemi, dünyaya kısa sürede uyum sağlama, teknolojiye entegre olma, piyasanın kodlarını takip ederek kısa zamanda köşeyi dönme, gerekirse insanlık erdemlerinden ödün vererek, çıkarlara göre yaşamaktır. Bu durumda kendi zamanında tatmin olamayan, geleceğinden korku duyan bireyler geçmişe tutunma motivasyonuyla nostaljiye yönelir. Nostaljinin hızla değişen dünyaya bir savunma mekanizması gibi deneyimlendiği ve geçmişin kurgulanarak bir köken arayışına gidildiği gözlenir. 80 sonrası halkın deneyimlediği istikrarsız ortamın nostaljiyi tetiklediği gibi, sinema sektörünü de olumsuz etkilemiş, üretim azalmıştır. Yavuz Turgul dönemin etkilerini kendi perspektifiyle yorumlayan yönetmenlerden biridir. Turgul filmlerinin nostaljik karakterleri, modernleşen toplumda uyum çabasında olan ancak başaramayan ve geçmişe, geçmiş alışkanlık, geleneklerine özlem duyan karakterlerdir. Dolayısıyla Yeşilçam gibi popüler sinemanın ardından, kendine has bir dramatik çizgiyle toplumsal değişim temasına odaklanan yönetmenin filmleri, 80 sonrası nostalji düşüncesiyle örtüşmekte, sosyolojik okumalara imkan vermektedir. Böylece Züğürt Ağa, Banker Bilo, Aşk Filmlerinin Unutulmaz Yönetmeni, Muhsin Bey, Gölge Oyunu, Eşkiya gibi yapımların değişim rüzgarına tutulan nostaljik karakterleri, modernleşen zamanın getirdikleriyle eleştirel bir zeminde tartışılabilmiştir.

The social change in Turkey after the 1980s brought about a turning point in terms of economy, politics and social life. The post-coup period and approaches heading for liberal economy escalated such feelings and thoughts in the lives of individuals as being under censorship and repression, being insecure, and being in a desolate and desperate situation caused by the dissolution of spiritual values. Long-term plans have been replaced by a short-term and ambiguous“present”. The new discourse of the period is to accommodate oneself to the world in a short time, to fully adapt to the technological devices, to make a fortune in a short span of time by keeping abreast of the rules in the market, to live in harmony with interests at the expense of human virtues, if necessary. In this regard, individuals who are not satisfied with the period they live in and are anxious about their future gravitated towards nostalgia with the motivation of holding onto the past. It is observed that nostalgia is being experienced as a defence mechanism in the rapidly changing world and people are seeking for their roots by constructing the past. The post-80s unsteady environment triggered the nostalgia while it affected the film industry in an adverse way, and as a result, the number of movies released declined. Yavuz Turgul is one of the directors who interpret the effects of this period through their own perspectives. The nostalgic characters of Yavuz Turgul's movies are the ones who fail to adapt to a modernizing society even if they put effort in, and long for the past, their past habits and traditions. Consequently, the movies of the director, which focuses on the theme of social change by pursuing a unique dramatic line after the popular cinema such as Yesilçam, correspond to the idea of nostalgia peculiar to the post-80s, and enable to read and analyse the processes in a sociological perspective. Thus, the nostalgic characters captivated by the wind of change in such movies titled Züğürt Ağa (The Broken Landlord/ The Agha), Banker Bilo [The Banker Bilo], Aşk Filmlerinin Unutulmaz Yönetmeni [The Unforgettable Director of Love Movies], Muhsin Bey (Mr. Muhsin), Gölge Oyunu (The Shadow Play), Eşkiya (The Bandit) could be critically discussed by considering the consequences of the modern times.
