Özet
Modern düşünce temelinde sosyoloji, antropoloji, felsefe ve sanat gibi alanlarda işlevsellik kavramı önemli tartışma konularından birine işaret etmektir. Alanlara ilişkin çalışma yürüten tarafların yapmış oldukları işlev ve işlevsellik tanımlamaları zamanla kavramların bulanıklaşmasına neden olmuştur. Sanat alanı bağlamında ele aldığımız bu işlev kavramı, nesnelerin işlev problemi olarak da adlandırılabilecektir. Nesnelerin işlevine ilişkin değerlendirme yapabilmek öncelikli olarak insanın algı ve yaşam koşulları temelinde, nesnenin var oluşuna ilişkin düşünmeyi gerektirmektir. Bir nesnenin var oluşu, o nesneye karşı duyulan ihtiyaçla ilişkili olarak görülmektedir. Özne, bulunduğu kültür ortamından yararlanarak nesneye bir işlev ya da bir anlam vermektedir. Nesnenin var oluş sürecinde özneye olan bu bağlılığı ona kimlik kazandırmaktadır. Bir amaca uygunluğu ifade eden işlev kavramı, öznenin nesneye kazandırdığı kimlik noktasında kendisini göstermektedir. O halde işlev kavramı, nesnenin kendi varlık nedeninin dışında, öznenin ideolojisini taşıyan soyut kavramsallaşmayı ifade etmektedir. Sanat alanı bağlamında ele aldığımız işlev kavramı özellikle sanatçı ve sanat eseri düşünmeyi gerektirmektedir. Sanat faaliyeti sürecinde nesneden faydalanan sanatçı, bulunduğu toplum içerisindeki etmenlere göre nesneye olan bakış açısını değiştirmekte ve nesnelere çeşitli anlamalar ve işlevler yüklemektedir. Araştırmamız temelinde ilkel dönemlerden başlayarak modern döneme kadar geleneksel olarak da tanımlanan süreç, nesnelerin işlevselliği tartışması bağlamında açıklanmış ve nesne, üreticisi ve üreticisinin bulunduğu sosyo-kültürel ortam bağlamında düşünülerek ele almıştır. Bu doğrultuda geleneksel ürünün/eserin işlevselliğine ilişkin çıkarım yapmak mümkün olup, modern ürünün/eserinde tıpkı diğer ürünler/eserler gibi işlevselliğini koruduğu görülmektedir. Ürün/eser söz konusu olduğunda her dönem, temelde aynı göstergeden hareket ederek nesnelere anlam yüklemekte ancak dönemlerin toplumsal değişimleri ile birlikte bu durumu, açık veya örtük bir biçimde sunulmaktadır.

The concept of functionality in fields such as sociology, anthropology, philosophy and art on the basis of Modern thought is to point to one of the major topics of discussion. The definitions of functions and functions made by the parties working on the fields have caused the concepts to blur over time. This concept of function, which we consider in the context of art space, can also be called the function problem of objects. To be able to evaluate the function of objects requires thinking about the existence of objects, primarily on the basis of human perception and living conditions. The existence of an object is seen in relation to the need for that object. The subject gives the object a function or a meaning by taking advantage of the cultural environment in which it is located. This devotion to the subject in the process of the object's existence gives it an identity. The concept of function, which expresses fitness for a purpose, manifests itself in the point of identity that the subject imparts to the object. The concept of function, then, refers to the abstract conceptualization that carries the ideology of the subject, other than the object's own reason of being. The concept of function, which we consider in the context of art space, requires thinking of artists and works of art in particular. Using the object in the process of art activity, the artist changes his perspective on the object according to the factors within the society in which he resides and imposes various understandings and functions on the objects. The process, which has been traditionally defined on the basis of our research from the primitive periods to the modern period, has been explained in the context of the discussion of the functionality of objects and has been considered in the context of the socio-cultural environment in which the object, its maker and its manufacturer are located. In this respect, it is possible to make inferences about the functionality of the traditional product/work, and it is seen that the modern product/work retains its functionality just like other products/works. In the case of the product/work, each period imposes meaning on objects by acting on the same indicator, but together with the social changes of periods, this situation is presented in an explicit or implicit manner.
