Özet
Sanayi devrimi ile birlikte tüm dünyayı etkileyen ekonomik ve sosyal gelişmeler topyekün hızlı gelişmelerin öncüsü olmuştur. Toplumsal hareketlilikle birlikte bilim, edebiyat, sanat, kültür, spor ve birçok alanda ülkelerin etkileşimi hız kazanmıştır. İnsanoğlunun yaşamının tüm alanlarını kuşatan eğitim, bu gelişmelerden olumlu yönde etkilenmiştir. Ulaşım ve iletişim araçlarının artması bilimsel ve kültürel mirasın yaygınlaşmasını ve bilinirliğini arttırmıştır. Okulların yaygınlaşması, eğitime olan talebin artması eğitim sistemlerini köklü değişime zorlamıştır. Disiplinler arası ilişki artmış ve materyaller zenginleşmiştir. Coğrafya eğitimi de bu değişim ve etkileşimden büyük ölçüde yararlanmış ve önemli mesafeler kat edilmiştir. Yeni teknolojik araç ve gereçlerin kullanılması, harita, atlas, fotoğraf, film, animasyon, coğrafya derslikleri ve kitaplıkları, etkileşimli tahta ve diğer teknolojik araçların aktif kullanılması coğrafya eğitimi ve öğretimine önemli katkısı olmuştur. Bilimsel ve teknolojideki hızlı değişmeler, teknolojinin eğitim-öğretim ortamlarında aktif kullanılması görsellikle içiçe olan coğrafya öğretmenleri için büyük kolaylık sağlamıştır. Coğrafya öğretmenleri, 21.yüzyılın gelişen dünyasında öğretmenlik mesleğinin yanında, akademik ve yönetimsel hedeflere de yönelmektedir. Birçok kurumda coğrafya öğretmenleri yönetim kademelerinde görev almakta, akademik alanda önemli çalışmalara katılarak alanında önemli eserler ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Türk Milli Eğitim Sistemi içinde coğrafya eğitimi ayrıntılı olarak ele alınmıştır. Coğrafya öğretmenlerinin hem akademik hem de yönetimsel alanda ne gibi çalışmalarda bulunabileceği ve eksik noktalar tespit edilerek çözüm yolları bulunması amaçlanmıştır. Bu sebeple coğrafya öğretmenlerinin akademik ve yönetimsel hedefleri tespit edilerek önerilerle geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır.

With the industrial revolution, economic and social developments affecting the whole world have been the pioneers of total rapid developments. Together with social mobility, the interaction of countries in science, literature, art, culture, sports and many other fields has accelerated. Education that encompasses all areas of human life has been positively affected by these developments. The increase in the means of transportation and communication has increased the spread and awareness of the scientific and cultural heritage. With the expansion of schools and increasing demand for education, it has forced education systems to drastic change. The interdisciplinary relationship increased and the materials were enriched. Geography education has benefited greatly from this change and interaction and significant progress has been made. The use of new technological tools and materials, map, atlas, photography, film, animation, geography classrooms and libraries, interactive board and other technological tools actively used in geography education and teaching has made an important contribution. Rapid changes in scientific and technology, and the active use of technology in educational environments have provided great convenience for geography teachers who are intertwined with visuality. Geography teachers, in the developing world of the 21st century, are oriented towards academic and administrative goals as well as teaching profession. In many institutions, geography teachers take part in management departments and participate in important studies in the academic field and produce important works in the field. In this study, Geography education in Turkish National Education System is discussed in detail. It is aimed to find out what kind of studies geography teachers can have in both academic and administrative fields and to find solutions for the missing points. For this reason, the academic and managerial goals of geography teachers were determined and developed with suggestions
