Özet
Çalışmada bir yapının simgesel değerinin, o yapının herhangi bir formuyla öne çıkması ve bunu yüzyıllardır sürdürmesi durumu irdelenecektir. Tarihi süreçten günümüze uygulanmış olan ibadet mekânları üzerinden kubbenin cami biçimine olan etkilerinin ve biçimsel süreçlerin analiz edilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Bu analizin sonucunda ise günümüz ibadet mekânının biçim oluşum sürecinin ana etkeni olan kubbenin, ibadet mekânı ile olan ilişkisinin tanımlanması amaçlanmaktadır. İşlevsel gerekliliği kalmayan kubbe formu cami mimarisinde kullanılması önemlidir. Çalışmada kubbe biçimlenmesinin işlevsel temeli sorgulanmaktadır. Kubbe günümüzde anlamsal etkiler doğrultusunda biçimlenmektedir. Bu anlamsallıkların öne çıkan örneği tarihsel birikim ve tasarımcıların tarihselliği ele alma şekilleridir. Cami yapısında kubbe biçimlenmesinin tanımlanabilir durumda olması önemli bir çalışma alanıdır. Tez çalışmasında konu üç bölümde incelenmektedir. Birinci bölümde; tarihi süreçte kubbenin İslâmiyet öncesi ve İslâm devletlerinde kullanımının biçim-işleve bağlı olarak evrimi incelenmektedir. İkinci bölümde; biçim-işlev kavramlarının ortaya çıkması, tanımlanması, alt kavramlarıyla beraber kubbe ile olan ilişkisi kurulmaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde; kubbe hakkındaki görüşler, tartışmalar ve yarışmalar üzerinden kubbenin kullanılma biçimleri irdelenmektedir. Bu bölümde kubbenin öne çıkan uygulamaları üzerinden günümüz cami mimarisinde bu formun ele alınma şekilleri ve cami mimarisini oluşturma etkileri biçim ve işlev merkezli incelenmektedir.

In the study, the fact that the symbolic value of a building is related to any form of that structure and that it has been going on for centuries will be examined. It is aimed to analyze the effects of the dome on the shape of the mosque and formal processes through the places of worship that have been applied since the historical process. As a result of this analysis, it is aimed to define the relationship of the dome, which is the main factor of the form formation process of today's worship place, with the place of worship. It is important to use the dome form, which has no functional necessity, in mosque architecture. In the study, the functional basis of dome shaping is questioned. Today, the dome is shaped according to semantic effects. The prominent example of these semantics are historical accumulation and the way designers address historicity. It is an important field of study that the dome formation in the mosque structure is identifiable. In the thesis study, the subject is examined in three sections. In the first part; In the historical process, the evolution of the use of the dome in pre-Islamic and Islamic states depending on the form-function is examined. In the second part; The emergence of the form-function concepts, their definition, and their relationship with the dome along with their sub-concepts are established. In the third part; The ways of using the dome are discussed through opinions, discussions and competitions about the dome. In this section, the ways in which this form is handled and the effects of creating the mosque architecture are examined in form and function center in today's mosque architecture through the prominent applications of the dome.
