Özet
ÖZET Dersanelerde üniversite giriş sınavları (ÖYS) na hazırlanmakta olan lise son sınıf öğrencilerinin gene¬ tik bilgilerini anlamlı öğrenip öğrenmedikleri geliş¬ tirilen bir sınav sistemi ile araştırılmıştır. Sınav sistemi, ÖYS giriş sınavlarında sorulmuş eski sınavlarından seçilmiş, genetiğin temel kavram¬ larını sınayan sorulardan oluşmuştur. Bu sistemde iki sınav türü kullanılmıştır. Birinci soru formu 12 çoktan seçmeli sorudan, ikincisi ise bu soruların problem ha¬ line getirilmesi ile oluşturulmuştur. Her iki sınav türü, toplam 226 dersane öğren¬ cisi üzerinde denenmiş ve aynı sınıfın öğrencilerine yarı yarıya ve kendi öğretmenleri tarafından verilerek uygulanmıştır. Sınav sonuçları başarı oranı yüzde olarak: çoktan seçmeli türde %64, problem türde %54 olarak elde edilmiştir. Sınav sonuçlarının analizleri, her iki sınav tu ründede yüzde başarılı sayısının düşük olması, sınav- arda sorulan temel genetik kavramların anlamlı olarak öğrenilmediğini ve problem sorulara verilen cevapların yüzdesinin çoktan seçmeli sorulara verilen cevaplara göre düşük olması da öğrencilerin kavramsal bağları kavramadıklarını göstermektedir..

43 SUMMARY Whether Last year's highschool students, who have been studying for the university entrance exam (ÖYS) at the preperation classes {called“dersane”), could have learned the main genetic concepts meaningfully or not, has been researched through a test system. This system consists of the questions that test the main concepts in genetics, which were askad at the former ÖYS exam. Within this system two forms of question have been used. The first form includes twelve multiple choice questions which test the fundamental concepts of genetics and the second one consists of problem type questions of the same subject. Both of this types have been applied to 22 6 students. In order to reflect the situation of the same group, half of the students in the same class were given the first form, while the rest were asked to answer the questions in the second form, both by their own teacher. The exam results have indicated that the rate of success is 63?, in multiple choice question type, but 531 in the problem solving type. The evoluation of the test results indicates that the students are not very good at problem solving44 The evoluatıon of the test results indicates that the students are not very good at problem solving in genetics as they can not learn the basic fundamental concepts in genetics meaningfully, even if they study it twice at their highschoois and at university preparation classes.
