Technological developments, which are constantly and rapidly developing and that place new problems and responsibilities as well as making people's lives easier, have made our transition to electronic environment indispensable. Especially with the introduction of the internet and therefore social media into our lives, the human life that has come to life again in electronic environment has started to perform its concrete activities and needs in electronic environments such as shopping, paying bills, creating photo albums, and communicating. As a natural consequence of this, the concept of digital personality, which enables each individual to exist in electronic environment and gives a new identity to the person, has come to life. In addition, we have become compulsory to share our personal data that we have and make us in electronic media. Of course, this obligation appears as a return of the age. Since the age we are living in obliges people to share their personal data, as a result, they demand the protection of their data from legal systems. Legal systems have brought many concrete regulations from the past to the present that will protect the confidentiality of this private area, which one wants to keep closed to the intervention of others. According to the research of the World Economic Forum, in the 21st century, children have to have eight different life skills related to electronic media. One of these skills is privacy management. In this study, the legal measures taken by legal systems in order to protect our personal data have been examined in today's world, in which every moment of our life is transferred to electronic environment, especially the measures taken in the European Union and Turkish Law have been thoroughly researched and compared.
