Özet
Amaç: Çalışmamızın amacı; gülümseme bileşenleri değiştirilerek elde edilen fotoğraflar üzerinde ortodontik tedavi görmeyen ve gören hastalar, çocuklar ve velileri, diş hekimliği ve diş teknisyenliği öğrencileri ile ortodonti eğitimi alan diş hekimlerinin görüşleri ile beğeninin değerlendirilmesidir. Birey ve Yöntem: Çalışmamıza Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi'nde yapılmış olup her gruptan 30 birey olmak üzere toplamda 240 birey çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Çalışmada gülümseme tasarımı oluşturmak için ideal gülümseme bileşenlerine sahip bir vaka üzerinde sekiz gülümseme bileşeni Adobe Photoshop CS6 programı ile değiştirilmiştir. Her bileşen farklı oranlarda değiştirilerek 24 adet fotoğraf elde edilmiştir. Oluşturulan gülümseme fotoğrafları VAS skalasıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın VAS puanlarının istatistiksel değerlendirmesi tekrarlanan ANOVA ve Tukey testi ile yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Katılımcı gruplar arasında dudak çizgisi ve gingival estetik bileşenleri beğeni algısı istatistiksel olarak anlamlı değildir (p>0,05). Tüm katılımcı gruplarında en çok beğenilen gülme arkı ve okluzal kant fotoğrafları aynıdır. Meslekten olmayan bireylerin dental orta hat, üst dudak kurvatürü, gülümseme simetrisi ve bukkal koridor estetik algılarında farklılıklar bulunmaktadır. Ortodontik tedavi gören yetişkin hastaların ortodontik tedavi görmeyen yetişkin bireylere göre VAS puanlaması daha hassastır. Çocukların da velilerine göre VAS puan ortalamaları daha hassastır. Ortodonti eğitimi alan diş hekimleri ile diş hekimliği öğrencilerinin puanlamaları benzer olup diş teknisyenliği öğrencilerine göre daha hassastır. Sonuç: Ortodonti eğitimi alan diş hekimleri ile ortodontik tedavi gören hastaların algısı benzerdir. Ortodontik tedavi gören hastalar ile tedavi görmeyen hastaların dental orta hat sapması ve gülümseme simetrisi algıları farklıdır. Ortodontik tedavi gören hastaların dental orta hat ve gülümseme algısı artırmıştır.

Purpose: The aim of our study is to evaluate the liking from the viewpoint of patients having and having not undergone an orthodontic treatment, children and their parents, dentistry students, dental technician trainees and dentists having been trained in orthodontics on photos having been generated by changing the smile components. Subject and Methods: To create a smile design for this study, eight smile components were changed on the photo of a case featuring ideal smile components using Adobe Photoshop CS6. Eight components were changed in different proportions so that 24 photos were generated. The generated smile photos were evaluated according to the VAS scale. The study was carried out in the Faculty of Dentistry, of Suleyman Demirel University and 240 persons, each group consisting of 30, were included in the study. The statistical analysis of the VAS scores took place using Repeated Measures ANOVA and Tukey's Test. Results: There is no significant difference in the liking perception of the lip line and gingival esthetic components among the groups (p>0.05). In all groups, the most liked smile arc and occlusal cant photos were the same. There is a difference in the esthetic perception of the dental midline, upper lip curvature, smile symmetry and buccal corridor among non-professionals. The VAS scoring of adults having undergone orthodontic treatment is more critical than the scoring of the adult patients not having undergone any orthodontic treatment. The VAS scoring of the children is more critical than the scoring of their parents. The scoring of dentists with training in orthodontics is similar to the scoring of dentistry students and together more critical than the scoring of dental technician trainees. Conclusions: The perception of dentists with training in orthodontics and patients having undergone orthodontic treatment is similar. Whether the patients have had training in dentistry has not influenced the esthetical perception. The perception of the dental midline deviation and smile symmetry are different between patients having and having not undergone an orthodontic treatment. Dental midline and smile symmetry perception of patients having undergone an orthodontic treatment has been increased.
