Adolescent online friendship is extremely popular in social Networks such as You Tube, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and so on while Youtube has been being widely used by people of all age groups and demographics. Among these age groups, adolescent utilize such social networks more frequently than any others. Objective of this research is“to analyze impact of social media on self image ability and psychosocial personality development of individuals. In this research, mixed method was applied where qualitative and quantitative researches used jointly. For qualitative dimension of the research, an investigation was figured in a model design of pre and posttest control group, and a case study was applied for quantitative dimension, one of the designs of qualitative research. The research sample is formed by 60 students receiving education in Rize Vakıfbank Anatolian High School within 2014/2015 school year. The school where an application performed was identified by taking ease of implementation and a principle of voluntariness through purposeful sampling method. Afterwards, 60 students studying in this school were identified by considering the variables like gender and socioeconomic levels, and neutrally assigned as experimental/control group. The research used measuring instruments ”The Self-Image Questionnaire for Young Adolescents (SIQYA)“ ”Erikson Psychosocial Inventory (EPSI)“and ”Film Questionnaire“,validity and credibility of which approved. T-test analysis of independent and dependent sample was applied while analyzing the data gained in quantitative dimension of the research. With the aim of facilitating limpidity of findings, the results were supported by charts. 05 significance level was mastered in the research. And data collected in consequence of negotiations conducted for qualitative dimension of the research were resolved through content analysis. 214 Within the scope of the research, qualitative data were analyzed first. Scores got by students of experimental-control groups from self-image and psychosocial personality development scales were calculated in pre-and-post experimental process. While analyzing findings related to qualitative dimension of the research, there was no significance difference in comparison to pre-test scores between experimental and control groups as a result of scores regarding self-image scale. But in terms of posttest scores, the scores of students from experimental group seems to be higher in comparison to that of control group in dimensions of Emotional, Physical Image, Sufficiency, Psychopathy, Supremacy, Family and Objectives of self image (sense of self) except for Impulse and Peer dimensions. As a result of psychosocial personality development related scores analysis, no significant difference was found between experimental and control groups both on pre and posttest scores. T-test of dependent sample was performed for analyzing a significance of difference between pre and posttest scores of self-image and psychosocial personality development of experimental group, and the scores related to sub-dimensions ”Sufficiency and Coping,“Supremacy”and“Objectives”of self image of the students in an experimental group before experimental process seemed to increase remarkable in comparison to post-experimental process. However, no meaningful difference is discovered between pre-and-posttest results of students from control group from self-image variable viewpoint. And when analyzed the results regarding to the scores of psychosocial personality development scale, a growth is observed between posttest scores of students of experimental-control group for the good of experimental group in dimensions of Confidence, Self- Government, Initiative, Personality and Selfhood excluding from Diligence. But in qualitative dimension of the research, the students from experimental group were asked and their opinions received about the impact of 215 social media on their lives through the videos watched by them. When studied the findings attained, the students reported that the first three videos highly affected on their lives in four titles provided. The last video has contributed to a moderate life in these four titles
