Social anxiety disorder is a very common and a debilitating disease. CBT widely accepted as a beneficial tool to treat this disorder. The newly developing treatment methods such as CBM and ABMT are also testing for further outcomes. However, typical CBT treatment seems lacking for children and adolescents with social anxiety. The sustainable gains seem harder to obtain for youth samples. Literature about the social anxiety in general is very neglected. Furthermore, there is already a handful of studies in the field for children and adolescents with social anxiety. Therefore, in this review the focus will be outcomes of CBT and other potential treatment methods for social anxiety on children and adolescents.
