Özet
Portre; bir kişinin karakterini ve ifadesini tamamen veren, sanatçıların bu ifadeleri bir yüzey üzerine boya, grafik, desen ve ya bir heykel malzemesi olarak aktarma dürtüsü üzerinden yola çıkmış tarih boyunca da tüm sanat akımları içerisinde üretilmiş yapıtları kapsamaktadır. Bu çalışma dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölüm, çalışmanın problem durumu, amaç ve önem, problem ve alt problem cümleleri, sınırlılıklar ve tanımlara yer verilerek bitirilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise, portre kavramının tanımlaması yapılarak Roma döneminden Rönesans dönemine kadar olan süreçteki portre sanatının tarihsel gelişimi incelenmiş, sosyolojik açıdan güç ve statü kavramları irdelenmiştir. Ayrıca Rönesans ve Barok dönemi kültür ve sanat ortamları toplum, felsefe, düşünce, bilim ve sanat açısından incelenerek, kadın imgesi ve toplum içerisindeki sosyal konumları ele alınmıştır. Son olarak Bulguları içeren dördüncü bölümde, Rönesans ve Barok Sanatında hem erkek hem de kadın sanatçıların yarattıkları kadın portreleri, oto portreler ve grup portreleri güç ve statüyü yansımaları açısından 23 sanatçı ve 25 eser kapsamında incelenmiştir. Böylelikle dönemlere ve farklı ülkelere ait sanatçıların kadın portrelerine yaklaşımları irdelenmiş ve çalışma tamamlandırılmıştır.

Portrait; It includes works produced in all art movements throughout history, which completely give the character and expression of a person, and which set out from the urge of artists to transfer these expressions on a surface as paint, graphics, pattern or a sculpture material. This study consists of four parts. The first part is concluded by giving place to the problem situation of the study, purpose and importance, problem and sub-problem sentences, limitations and definitions. In the second part, the concept of portrait was defined and the historical development of portrait art in the process from the Roman period to the Renaissance period was examined, and the concepts of power and status were examined sociologically. In addition, the culture and art environments of the Renaissance and Baroque periods were examined in terms of society, philosophy, thought, science and art, and the image of women and their social positions in the society were discussed. Finally, in the fourth chapter containing the Findings, female portraits, selfportraits and group portraits created by both male and female artists in Renaissance and Baroque Art were examined in terms of their reflections of power and status within the scope of 23 artists and 25 works. In this way, the approaches of artists from different periods and different countries to women's portraits were examined and the study was completed.
