Özet

İlk olarak 17.yy.da İtalya'da ortaya çıkan Barok sanatı 18.yy.da Osmanlıyı da etkilemiştir. Avrupa'ya giden elçilerle beraber Osmanlı mimarisinde de değişiklikler gözlemlenmiştir. Bu değişiklikler Osmanlı camilerinde de kendini göstermiştir. İstanbul'daki 18.yy. Osmanlı Barok camileri bu tezin konusudur. Bu çalışmanın amacı Geç Dönem Osmanlı mimarisinde Barok üsluba sahip 18.yy. İstanbul camilerinin cephe özelliklerini inceleyerek bu üslupla gelen yenilikleri saptamaktır. Bu camilerdeki Klasik dönemden gelen özellikleri ve yeni üslup ile nasıl bir araya geldiğini saptamak amaçlanmıştır. Bu döneme ait dokuz cami incelenmiştir. Bu camiler: Nuruosmaniye Cami, Ayazma Cami, Laleli Cami, Zeynep Sultan Cami, Çakmakçılar Cami, Beylerbeyi Cami, Şebsefa Hatun Cami, Humbarahane Kışlası Cami ve Büyük Selimiye Cami'dir. Tezin amacına ulaşmak için Barok mimariye uygun kavramlar seçilmiş ve bu kavramların seçilen camilerde nasıl gerçekleştiği gözlemlenmiştir.18. yy. İstanbul'daki Osmanlı Barok camilerde Avrupa'dan gelen yeniliklerle beraber klasik Osmanlı Dönemi cami mimari özelliklerini de taşımaktadır. Bu camilerin yer seçimine de ortak özellikler gözlemlenmiştir. Bu tez çalışması, Barok cami cephe düzenlerini analiz ederek bu cephe düzenlerini anlatan mimari tasarım ilkelerini belirleyerek Barok dönemin mimarlık tarihindeki yerini sorgulayan değerlendirmeleri kapsamaktadır.

Baroque art, which first emerged in Italy in the 17th century, also affected the Ottoman Empire in the 18th century. Along with the ambassadors to Europe, changes were observed in Ottoman architecture. These changes also showed themselves in the Ottoman mosques. The 18th century Ottoman Baroque mosques in Istanbul are the subject of this thesis.The aim of this study is to examine the facade features of 18th century Istanbul mosques with Baroque style in Late Period Ottoman architecture and to determine the innovations that came with this style. It is to determine how the features from the Classical period and the new style come together in these mosques. Nine mosques belonging to this period were examined. These mosques are: Nuruosmaniye Mosque, Ayazma Mosque, Laleli Mosque, Zeynep Sultan Mosque, Çakmakçılar Mosque, Beylerbeyi Mosque, Sebsefa Hatun Mosque, Humbarahane Kışlası Mosque and Büyük Selimiye Mosque. In order to achieve the aim of the thesis, suitable concepts for Baroque architecture were selected and it was observed how these concepts were realized in the selected mosques.The Ottoman Baroque mosques in Istanbul in the 18th century, together with the innovations coming from Europe, also carry the classical Ottoman period mosque architectural features. Common features are observed in the location selection of these mosques. This thesis covers the evaluations by analyzing the facade layouts of Baroque mosques, determining the architectural design principles that explain these facade layouts, questioning the place of the Baroque period in the history of architecture.
