Özet
Bu araştırmada Obsesif Kompulsif Bozukluk (OKB) ile beden algısı ve benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişkinin ve OKB'nin benlik saygısı ile ilişkisinde beden algısının aracı rolünün incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ön lisans, lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora düzeyinde eğitim gören, psikiyatrik tanı almamış 759 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılar Gönüllü Katılım Formunu okuyup onayladıktan sonra Demografik Bilgi Formunu doldurmuşlardır. Ardından Vancouver Obsesif Kompulsif Envanterini, Vücut Algısı Ölçeğini ve Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeğini doldurmuşlardır. Toplanan verilere korelasyon analizi, regresyon analizi, aracılık analizi, t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi uygulanmıştır. OKB toplam puanları ile beden algısı arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. OKB toplam puanları ile benlik saygısı arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Beden algısı ile benlik saygısı arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. OKB ile benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişkide beden algısının aracı rolünün anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Yaş ile OKB toplam puanları arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Yaş ile beden algısı arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Yaş ile benlik saygısı arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. OKB'nin beden algısı ve benlik saygısı ile ilişkisi olduğu OKB ile benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişkide beden algısının aracı rolünün olduğu ve cinsiyet, ilişki durumu, eğitim durumu değişkenlerine göre elde edilen bulguların literatüre katkı sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın bulguları ilgili literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır.

In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and body image and self-esteem and the mediating role of body image in the relationship between OCD and self-esteem. The sample of the study consists of 759 university students who are studying at associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels and have not been diagnosed with psychiatric disorders. After the participants read and approved the Voluntary Participation Form, they filled out the Demographic Information Form. Then they filled the Vancouver Obsessive Compulsive Inventory, Body Image Scale and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Correlation analysis, regression analysis, mediation analysis, t test and one-way analysis of variance were applied to the collected data. A negative and significant relationship was found between OCD total scores and body image. A positive and significant relationship was found between OCD total scores and self-esteem. A negative significant relationship was found between body image and self-esteem. It was found that the mediating role of body image in the relationship between OCD and self-esteem was significant. A significant negative correlation was found between age and total OCD scores. A positive and significant relationship was found between age and body image. A negative significant relationship was found between age and self-esteem. It has been concluded that OCD has a relationship with body image and self-esteem, body image has a mediating role in the relationship between OCD and self-esteem, and the findings obtained according to the variables of gender, relationship status and educational status contribute to the literature. The findings of this study were discussed in the light of the relevant literature.
