Praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon Muhammad, the Messenger of God, and upon his family and companions, and those who are loyal to him, and after. The study of ancient Arabic poetry bears the importance and advantage of being the heritage of a great and ancient nation, which dominated the world in an era with its religion and language, and like poetry is a basic subject of the Arabic language that God guarantees its preservation. It is well-known that the Arab culture degrades the people of black skin and considers them slaves, and sees the black color as a symbol of pessimism about birds, animals and humans, synonymous with misery and misery, and a sign of inferiority, low lineage, low status, and even impurity. In Arab society, racism prevails and discrimination against them is rampant. Undoubtedly, this discrimination against them has left an impact on their poetry, especially since the history of Arabic literature is full of many black poets, who breathed a sigh of relief after the rule of the Islamic religion in the Arabian Peninsula, but they did not rejoice much, as discrimination against them has returned in the rule of the Umayyads and the Abbasids. There are some of them who were close to the authority, praising and chanting about its glories, but looking at it from another angle makes you stand in front of a painful, tired person suffering from internal torments and wounds that shriek from time to time to paint a fracture and vanishing in an empty self suffering from the weight of the other as long as it is alive. For this reason, we chose a title that touches on this suffering in building their poetic image. The title was (The artistic image of black poets from the pre-Islamic era to the Abbasid era). We divided the title into three chapters preceded by a preface and followed by a conclusion. The preface carried the title of the artistic image, structure and concept. The first chapter: entitled the rhetorical components of the image, and it contains three permissible things, the first topic: entitled the simile image The second topic: entitled the metaphorical image, and the third topic: it was entitled the metaphorical image, and the second chapter: the title of building factors of the image, and we also divided it into three sections: nature, society and imagination, and the third chapter: entitled the sources of building the image, and we divided it into three sections. The first is the audio-visual image, the second is the color image, and the third is the emotional image, then the conclusion is followed by the most prominent results that we have reached in the study. We have adopted a number of important references in the thesis, as well as the main study sources (poetic collections). Among the important references are Nusrat Abdel Rahman's Book of Artistic Poetry in Pre-Islamic Poetry, as well as the Book of Artistic Image in Poetic Criticism by Abdel Qader Al-Rubai, and other books that dealt with the lives of poets. Blacks and their psyche. Many of the difficulties the researcher may face during his work, and I had difficulty in extrapolating the poetic collections and clarifying the rhetorical and social issues in them, but by the grace of God and then the help of reading and the supervisors, I overcame them and completed my work in a way that I hope will be adequate.
