Özet
Bu tez Osmanlı tarihini çok farklı iki tarihçinin gözüyle inceliyor: Aşıkpaşazade ve Kritovulos Osmanlıları nasıl gördüklerini belirlemeyi amaçlıyor. Tez önce her iki tarihçinin neden Osmanlı Hanedanlığı tarihlerini yazmaya karar verdiğinin ardındaki nedenleri inceliyor ve daha sonra Osmanlı'nın kendilerini sırasıyla iki tarihe göre nasıl gördüğünü analiz ediyor, unvanlar ve Şecere dahil. Osmanlıların Gaziler olarak kabul edilip edilemeyeceği konusu da incelenmekte ve sonuç bölümü bu iki tarihçinin Osmanlı politikalarını nasıl tasvir ettiklerinin incelenmesi ile sona ermektedir.

This thesis examines Ottoman history through the eyes of two very different chroniclers: Aşıkpaşazade And Kritoboulos aims to determine how they view the Ottomans. The thesis first examines the motives behind why both chroniclers decided to write histories of the Ottoman Dynasty, and then analyses how the Ottoman viewed themselves based on the two histories respectively, including titles and Genealogies. The issue of whether the Ottomans can be considered to be Ghazis or not is also examined, and the concluding chapter ends with an examination of how the chroniclers portrayed Ottoman policy.
