Özet
Çalışmanın amacı dil bilimine bağlı bir alt birim olan yerleşim adları biliminin, coğrafya ve dil biliminin yanı sıra tarih bilimi ile olan yakından ilişkisi ön plana çıkarılmaktır. İnterdisipliner uygulamalara en iyi örnek olarak yerleşim adları bilimi (toponomi) Tarih ile olan organik ilişkisi gösterilmiştir. İnsanların yaşadıkları yerleşim yerinin adıyla olan ilişkisi üzerinden psikolojik ve sosyolojik yönüne değinilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra tarihte bir takım olay ve olgular ile genel çerçevede Anadolu olmak üzere İzmir özelinde yerleşim adları incelemesi yapılmıştır. Türkleşme sürecinde Anadolu'nun yerleşim adlarının değişmesinin ne şekilde bir tarihsel süreçten geçtiğini ve böylelikle Anadolu'da yerleşim adlarının değişimi üzerine oluşan yanlış algıların aksine bu durumun bir süreç olduğu ve ani bir değişimin olmadığı ortaya koyulmuştur. Konuyla ilgili çalışmaları olan ünlü sosyal bilimcilerin yapmış olduğu Anadolu yerleşim adlarının sınıflandırmasına yer verilmiştir. Yerleşim adlarının Anadolu'da değişmesinin doğal bir süreç halinde gelişmesinin yanı sıra emperyalizmin yerleşim adlarına olan etkisi ile Rusya, Bulgaristan ve Yunanistan gibi ülkelerin Türk yerleşim yerlerinin adlarını nasıl bir yaklaşımla değiştirdiği ortaya konulmuştur. Genel çerçevede bu olay ve olgular ile Türkleşme döneminde Anadolu ve İzmir'in yerleşim adlarının değişme serüveninin karşılaştırmalı bir şekilde farkları belirtilmektedir. Modern dönemde yerleşim adlarına bakış açısının daha bilimsel hal alması göz önüne alınarak Geç Osmanlı ve Erken Cumhuriyet dönemlerinde yerleşim adlarına bakış açısının ne denli olduğu gösterilmek istenilmiştir. Tüm bunların ışığında yerleşim adlarının çok yönlü bir yapıya sahip olduğu; siyasi, tarihi, coğrafi, dilsel, sosyolojik ve psikolojik gibi yapısı hasebiyle özgün bir bilim dalıdır. The aim of the study is to highlight the close relationship between the science of settlement names, which is a sub-unit of linguistics, with the science of history as well as geography and linguistics. As the best example of interdisciplinary practices, the science of settlement names (toponomy) has been shown in its organic relationship with History. The psychological and sociological aspects of people are mentioned through the relationship with the name of the place where they live. In addition to this, a number of events and facts in history and the names of settlements in Izmir, especially Anatolia in the general framework, were examined. It has been revealed how the change in the settlement names of Anatolia went through a historical process in the process of Turkification, and thus, contrary to the misperceptions about the change of settlement names in Anatolia, this situation is a process and there is no sudden change. The classification of Anatolian settlement names made by famous social scientists who have studies on the subject is included. In addition to the natural process of changing the names of settlements in Anatolia, it has been revealed how countries such as Russia, Bulgaria and Greece changed the names of Turkish settlements with the effect of imperialism on the names of settlements. In the general framework, the differences between these events and phenomena and the adventure of changing the settlement names of Anatolia and İzmir during the Turkization period are stated in a comparative way. Considering that the point of view on the settlement names in the modern period has become more scientific, it is desired to show how the point of view on the settlement names was in the Late Ottoman and Early Republican periods. In the light of all these, it is seen that the settlement names have a versatile structure; It is a unique branch of science due to its political, historical, geographical, linguistic, sociological and psychological structure.
