Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı modele dayalı fen öğretiminin öğrencilerin eleştirel görsel okumalarına, fen bilimlerine karşı tutumlarına ve akademik başarılarına etkisini incelemektir. Bu çalışmada nicel araştırma yöntemi ile yapılmış olup yarı-deneysel desenlerden ön test- son test kontrol grup modeli kullanıldı. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında, Doğu Anadolu'nun küçük ölçekli bir ilinde bulunan üç farklı okuldaki, ortaokul 8. sınıfta öğrenim gören 62 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada fen bilimleri dersi 8. sınıf üniteleri içinde yer alan basit makineler seçildi. Araştırmadaki veriler;“Basit Makineler Akademik Başarı Testi”,“Fen Bilimlerine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği”ve“Eleştirel Görsel Okuma Ölçeği”ile toplanılan verilerden oluşmaktadır. Her iki gruba Akademik Başarı Testi, Fen Bilimlerine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve Eleştirel Görsel Okuma Ölçeği ön test ve son test olarak uygulandı. Çalışmada deney grubunda modele dayalı öğretim gerçekleştirilirken, kontrol grubunda Millî Eğitim Bakanlığının Fen Öğretim Programında ön görülen öğretim yöntem ve stratejileri ile dersler işlendi. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler bir istatistik paket programı kullanılarak analiz edildi. Yapılan analizlerde modele dayalı fen öğretiminde öğrencilerin akademik başarı testinde, fen bilimlerine yönelik tutum testinde ve eleştirel görsel okuma testinde deney grubunu lehine anlamlı farklılık meydana geldiği görüldü. Literatürde yapılan benzer çalışmaların sonuçlarıyla, elde edilen sonuçların birbirine paralel oldukları görüldü.

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of model-based science teaching on students' critical visual reading, their attitudes towards science, and their academic achievement. In this study, a quantitative research method was used and a pretest-posttest control group model, one of the semi-experimental designs, was used. The study group of the research consists of 62 eighth grade secondary school students in three different schools in a small-scale province of Eastern Anatolia in the 2022-2023 academic year. In the study, simple machines included in the 8th grade units of science lesson were selected. The data in the research; It consists of data collected by“Simple Machines Academic Achievement Test”,“Attitude Scale Towards Science”And“Critical Visual Reading Scale”. Academic Achievement Test, Attitude Towards Science Scale and Critical Visual Reading Scale were administered to both groups as pretest and posttest. In the study, while model-based teaching was carried out in the experimental group, the lessons were taught with the teaching methods and strategies envisaged in the Science Education Program of the Ministry of National Education in the control group. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using a statistical package program. In the analysis, it was seen that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group in the academic achievement test, the attitude test towards science and the critical visual reading test in model-based science teaching. It was seen that the results obtained were parallel to each other with the results of similar studies in the literature.
