Özet
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, Türkiye'deki spor turizminin mevcut durumunu ortaya koymak, spor turizminin stratejik gelişiminde etkili olan alt yapı, doğal kaynaklar, ulaşım, devlet desteği, yerel halk desteği, gönüllüler, engelliler, kaliteli hizmet, tesisler, konaklama, güvenlik, organizasyon, pazarlama, seyahat acentaları, sürdürülebilirlik olarak belirlenen 15 stratejik unsuru göz önünde bulundurup dünyadaki spor turizminden örneklerle karşılaştırmalar yapmaktır. Ayrıca Türkiye'de sürdürülebilir spor turizmine karşılık gelen ileriye dönük stratejileri belirlemek adına çalışmada SWOT analizi oluşturulmaktır. Bu çalışma için kullanılan veriler, literatür taraması şeklinde birçok yerli ve yabancı kaynaktan ve devletin resmi istatistiklerden elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen veriler doğrultunda Türkiye'nin spor turizm potansiyelinin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca oluşturulan hem SWOT analizi sonuçları hem de Türkiye'nin spor turizm potansiyelini nasıl daha fazla geliştirilebileceğine yönelik elde edilen bilgilerde dikkate alınarak stratejik öneriler sunulmaktadır.

The main purpose of this study is to reveal the current situation of sports tourism in Turkey, to make comparisons with examples from sports tourism in the world by considering 15 strategic elements determined as infrastructure, natural resources, transportation, government support, local community support, volunteers, disabled people, quality service, facilities, uaccommodation, security, organization, marketing, travel agencies, sustainability, which are effective in the strategic development of sports tourism. In addition, a SWOT analysis is conducted in order to determine the future strategies corresponding to sustainable sports tourism in Turkey. The data used for this study were obtained from many domestic and foreign sources in the form of literature review and official statistics of the state. In line with the data obtained as a result of the research, it was determined that Turkey has a sports tourism potential. In addition, strategic recommendations are presented by taking into account both the results of the SWOT analysis and the information obtained on how to further develop Turkey's sports tourism potential.
