Özet
Din fenomeni hem birey hem de toplum açısından temel bir unsur olması nedeniyle, tarih boyunca insan yaşamında pek çok şeyle ilişkilendirilmiş kompleks bir bütünlüğü ifade etmektedir. Bu nedenle din hakkında genel geçer ve kapsayıcı bir tanım yapmak kolay bir iş gibi görünmemektedir. Çünkü din fenomeni, başta egzistansiyal, sosyal, psikolojik, tecrübi, ahlaki, eskatolojik, doktrinel ve mistik olmak üzere pek çok boyuta sahiptir. Din fenomeni, bu boyutlarının yanı sıra varlığın anlamı ve niçin var olduğu ile ilgili de metafizik bir açıklama sunarak, yaşamın ve yaratılışın bir gaye için var olduğu, insanın da bu gaye doğrultusunda bir amacının olduğunu açıklar. Bu çok boyutlu yapısının mevcudiyeti, din hakkında ortaya koyulan tanımlarda çok yönlü ve disiplinler arası bir bakış açısından yararlanılmasını gerekli kılmaktadır. Herhangi bir şeyin tanımını yaparken varlık sebebini açıklamak gerekir. Dolayısıyla din fenomeni tanımlanırken de temel alınan yaklaşım her ne olursa olsun, varlık sebebinin tespiti, gayelerinin araştırılması, dinin özünde ifade ettiği anlamın ortaya çıkması açısından önemlidir. Açıkça görülmektedir ki din, insanların yaşamlarını anlamlandıran, açıklamakta zorlandığı sorulara cevap veren, aşkın bir yönü bulunan, bireylerin başa çıkmakta zorlandığı varoluşsal durumlar karşısında bir açıklaması olan ve aynı zamanda toplumsal düzeni de sağlayan çeşitli yönleri bulunan fonksiyonel ve dinamik bir yapıya sahiptir. Bu nedenle dinin anlaşılmasında tercih edilen yöntem sabit olmamalıdır. Bilakis, boyutlarının çokluğu sebebiyle anlaşılma yönleri, yöntemleri ve neticelerinin çok olması sebebiyle, her dönemde yeniden yorumlanmaya ve yeniden anlaşılmaya ihtiyaç vardır. Bu nedenle belirli kurallara ve şekilsel formlara irca edilmiş bir din anlayışı yerine, dinin tarih ve toplum içerisinde şekillenişini, dinin öz, anlam ve amacını dikkate alan bir bakış açısıyla her dönemde yeniden düşünmek gerekir.

Since the phenomenon of religion is a fundamental uncertainty in terms of both things and society, it expresses a complex whole that has not been consumed with many things in human life throughout history. Therefore, it does not seem like an easy task to make a general and comprehensive definition of religion. Because the phenomenon of religion has many dimensions, especially existential, social, psychological, experiential, moral, eschatological, doctrinal and mystical. The phenomenon of religion, in addition to these dimensions, offers a metaphysical explanation about the meaning of its existence and the existence that it experiences, and that life and creation exist for a purpose, and this purpose includes a purpose for which this purpose will come. The existence of this multidimensional structure makes it necessary to benefit from a multidimensional and interdisciplinary perspective in the definitions of religion. While defining any entity, it should include the reasons for existence. Therefore, whatever the approach taken as the basis for clustering the phenomenon of religion, the limits of the reason for existence, the intensities of its aims, are important in terms of the consequences of the emergence of the meaning that religion expresses in its essence. It is obvious that religion has a functional and dynamic structure that is found in various elements that give meaning to people's lives, respond to the difficulties in the heaters, provide an explanation for the existential dwellings that individuals have difficulty in coping with, and at the same time provide social order. Therefore fix the preferred method in the preservation of religion. On the contrary, the effect of the multiplicity of needs may not be understood, the methods and results are many, each period needs reinterpretation and re-understanding. For this reason, it is necessary to rethink every period with a perspective that takes into account the formation of religion in history and society, the essence, meaning and purpose of religion, rather than a religious understanding that has been reduced to certain rules and formal forms.
