Özet
Bu çalışmada öğretmen, öğrenci, yönetici ve veli görüşleri çerçevesinde sosyal bilgiler dersinde gezi – gözlem tekniğinin önemi, yeterince kullanılmamasının sebepleri, gezi – gözlem faaliyeti öncesinde ve uygulama anında yaşanan problemler, uygulama sonrasında yapılan faaliyetler ve tekniğin daha etkili hale getirilmesi için yapılması gerekenler ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışma nitel araştırma yaklaşımının bir tasarımı olan olgu bilim deseni ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri daha önce geziye katılmış 16 öğretmen, 16 öğrenci, 13 yönetici ve 13 veli ile gerçekleştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları ile elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda katılımcılar tarafından gezi – gözlem tekniği özellikle kalıcı öğrenmeyi sağladığı ve öğrenmeyi kolaylaştırdığı için önemli görülmüştür. Maddi imkânların yetersiz olması ve öğretmenlere sorumluluk yüklemesi tekniğin yeteri kadar kullanılmamasının temel sebebi olarak görülmektedir. Gezi öncesinde de daha çok maddi yetersizlikler ve velilerin kişisel endişeler taşıması sorun olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Kalabalık gruplarla geziye gidilmesi, bazı öğrencilerin kurallara uymaması ve gezi zamanının yetersiz olması gezi sırasında yaşanan sorunların başında gelmektedir. Gezi uygulamasından sonra bazı öğretmenler sınıfta genellikle soru cevap tekniği ve sunu hazırlama gibi çeşitli etkinlikler yaptırmaktadır. Gezi – gözlem tekniğinin daha etkili hale getirilmesine yönelik öğrencilere maddi destek sağlanması, öğretmenler üzerindeki sorumluluğun azaltılması ve öğretmen ile yöneticilerin teşvik edilmesi gibi öneriler sunulmuştur. Gezi – gözlem tekniğine yönelik alan yazında öğretmenlerin görüşlerine yönelik araştırmalar mevcut olsa da yönetici, öğrenci ve veli görüşlerini yansıtan detaylı bir çalışma tespit edilememiştir. Bu yüzden çalışmanın alan yazına katkı sağladığı düşünülmektedir.

In this study, within the framework of the views of teachers, students, administrators and parents, the importance of the excursion-observation technique in the social studies lesson, the reasons for not using it enough, the problems experienced before and during the excursion-observation activity, the activities done after the application and the things to be done to make the technique more effective are discussed. This study was carried out with the phenomenology design, which is a technique of qualitative research model. The data of the research were obtained through semi-structured interview forms conducted with 16 teachers, 16 students, 13 administrators and 13 parents who had participated in the trip before. The obtained data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. As a result of the research, the excursion-observation technique was considered important by the participants, especially since it provides permanent learning and facilitates learning. Insufficient financial resources and responsibilities to teachers are seen as the main reason why the technique is not used enough. Even before the trip, financial inadequacies and personal concerns of the parents emerged as a problem. Traveling with large groups, some students not following the rules, and insufficient time for the trip are among the problems experienced during the trip. After the trip, some teachers usually have various activities such as question and answer technique and preparing presentations in the classroom. Suggestions such as providing financial support to students, reducing the responsibility on teachers and encouraging teachers and administrators were presented to make the travel-observation technique more effective. Although there are studies on the opinions of teachers in the field of travel-observation technique, no detailed study has been identified that reflects the views of administrators, students and parents. Therefore, it is thought that the study contributes to the literature.
