Özet
Okullarda verilen eğitim ile bireyde ortak hafıza çerçevesinde aidiyet duygusu da gelişir ve şekillenmeye devam eder. Bu noktada sosyal bilgiler dersi önemli bir rol üstlenir. Sahip olduğu içerik ve dersin amaçları göz önünde bulundurulduğunda sosyal bilgiler dersinin bireyin kimlik inşasında etkin bir rol oynadığı söylenebilir. Ortaokul 8. Sınıf öğrencilerinin kimlik kavramına ilişkin düşüncesi ve sosyal bilgiler dersinin kimlik inşası üzerindeki etkisini öğrencilerin görüşleri doğrultusunda ortaya koymanın amaçlandığı bu çalışmada öğrenci görüşlerini belirlemek için nicel yaklaşım çerçevesinde“tarama modeli”tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 22 soruluk anket kullanılmıştır. Ankette yer alan ifadeler katılımcı öğrencilerin kimliğe dair düşüncelerini ölçmeye yönelik hazırlanmıştır. Ayrıca katılımcılardan her bir ifadeye bağlı olarak düşündükleri durumun gelişmesinde/oluşmasında sosyal bilgiler dersinin katkısının ne derece olduğunu belirtmeleri istenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2022-2023 Eğitim Öğretim Yılında ortaokul 8. Sınıfta öğrenim gören 440 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Elde edilen veriler bir istatistiki veri analiz programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Gruplar arası farklılığı görmek için Mann Whitney U testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre sosyal bilgiler dersinin etkisinin kültürel kimlik ve milli kimliğin inşasında nispeten fazla olduğu. Bireysel kimlik, toplumsal kimlik ve evrensel kimliğin inşasında ise daha az olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

With the education given in schools, the sense of belonging develops and continues to be shaped in the framework of common memory in the individual. At this point, the social studies course plays an important role. Considering the content it has and the aims of the course, it can be said that the social studies course plays an active role in the construction of an individual's identity. In this study, which aims to reveal the thoughts of secondary school 8th grade students on the concept of identity and the effect of social studies course on identity construction in line with the students' opinions, the“screening model”was preferred within the framework of a quantitative approach to determine student views. In the research, a questionnaire consisting of 22 questions prepared by the researcher was used for data collection. The statements in the questionnaire were prepared to measure the participant students' thoughts about identity. In addition, the participants were asked to indicate the extent to which the social studies course contributed to the development/formation of the situation they thought of depending on each statement. The sample of the research consists of 440 students studying in the 8th grade of secondary school in the 2022-2023 academic year. The obtained data were analyzed using a statistical data analysis program. The Mann Whitney U was applied to see the difference between the groups. According to the findings obtained in the research, the effect of the social studies course is relatively high in the construction of cultural identity and national identity. It has been concluded that it is less in the construction of individual identity, social identity and universal identity.
