ÖZET INTERNET ORTAMINDA JAVA TEKNOLOJİLERİ KULLANILARAK WWW ÜZERİNDEN YÖNETİLEBİLEN VERİ TABANI SİSTEMİ VE BİR UYGULAMA CEYHAN, Umut Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Uluslarası Bilgisayar Enstitüsü Tez Yöneticisi; Prof. Dr. M. Cudi Okur Temmuz 1999,170 sayfa Bu tezde, Internet ortamından (TCP/TP protokol yığıtı tabanlı bilgisayar ağlarından) ulaşılan, sorgulanan ve yönetilen, veri tabanı üstüne kurulu sistemleri gerçeklemekte kullanılabilecek Java teknolojileri ele alınmıştır. Mevcut JDBC mimarileri ve bu mimariler üstüne kurulu sistemlerin performansı farklı Java istemci teknolojileri (Java Servlet ve Java Applet) kullanarak test edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara dayanılarak maksimum performansı sağlayacak şekilde bir sistem tasarlanmış ve gerçekleştirilmiştir. İncelenen ve testleri yapılan JDBC mimarileri ve Java teknolojilerinin performansları büyük oranda sisteme erişilen bilgisayar ağının kapasitesine bağlıdır. Önerilen sistem tamamen Sun Microsystems tarafından geliştirilen Java teknolojilerine dayanmaktadır. VII ABSTRACT A DATABASE SYSTEM WHICH CAN BE MANAGED VIA WWW BY USING JAVA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE INTERNET ENVIRONMENT AND AN APPLICATION CEYHAN, Umut MSc, in International Computing Institute Supervisor: Prof. Dr. M. Cudi Okur July 1999,170 pages This thesis deals with the Java technologies that can be utilised in bringing database systems which can be accessed, queried and managed in the Internet environment (computer webs with TCP/IP protocol stack) into the life. The performance of current JDBC architectures and the systems that are built upon these architectures are tested by using different Java client technologies (Java Servlet and Java Applet). A system which would provide the maximum performance is designed depending on the results that were obtained and this system is brought into life. The performances of JDBC architectures, which were analyzed and tested and the Java technologies mainly depend on the capacity of the computer web through which the system is accessed. The proposed system completely depends on the Java technologies that were developed by Sun Microsystems. With the advantages that Java technologies bring, the database system works independent of the hardware and the platform.
