Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul 8. sınıf sürdürülebilir kalkınma konusunun öğretiminde kullanılan yenilikçi tematik öğrenme etkinliklerinin öğrencilerin sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya yönelik tutumlarına ve 21. yüzyıl becerilerine etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırmanın amacına yönelik verileri elde etmek için nicel araştırma modellerinden yarı deneysel desen modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde, İstanbul İli Avcılar İlçesi'nde bulunan bir ortaokulun 8. sınıfında öğrenim gören iki farklı şubeden seçilen toplam 60 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada yansız atama yöntemi ile deney ve kontrol grupları belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak, Sürdürülebilir Kalkınmaya Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve Kapsamlı 21. Yüzyıl Becerileri Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Uygulama sürecine geçilmeden önce ölçekler deney ve kontrol grubuna ön test olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın deney grubunu (N= 30) yenilikçi tematik öğrenme etkinlikleriyle öğretim yapılan grup ile kontrol grubunu (N= 30) ise öğretim programında yer alan öğrenme etkinlikleri öğretim yapılan grup oluşturmuştur. Bu araştırmanın uygulama süreci ise sürdürülebilir kalkınma konusunun işlendiği haftalar süresince devam ettirilmiştir. Uygulama sonrasında aynı ölçekler her iki gruba da son test olarak tekrar uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen verilerin analizinde SPSS 25.0 istatistik analiz paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, deney ve kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin Sürdürülebilir Kalkınmaya Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ön test puan ortalamaları arasında herhangi bir farklılığın olmadığını fakat son test puan ortalamalarının deney grubu lehine anlamlı şekilde farklılaştığını ortaya koymuştur. Çalışma sonuçları ayrıca grupların Kapsamlı 21. Yüzyıl Becerileri Ölçeği ön test puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı farklılık olmadığını ve son test puan ortalamalarının deney grubu lehine istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde bir farklılaştığını göstermiştir.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of innovative thematic learning activities used in teaching the subject of sustainable development in secondary school 8th grade on students' attitudes towards sustainable development and 21st century skills. A quasi-experimental design model, one of the quantitative research models, was used to obtain data for the purpose of the research. The study group of the research consisted of a total of 60 students selected from two different branches studying in the 8th grade of a secondary school in Avcılar District of Istanbul Province, in the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. In the research, experimental and control groups were determined by the unbiased assignment method. The Attitude Scale towards Sustainable Development and the Comprehensive 21st Century Skills Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. Before starting the application process, the scales were applied to the experimental and control groups as a pre-test. The experimental group of the research (N= 30) consisted of the group taught with innovative thematic learning activities, and the control group (N= 30) consisted of the group taught with learning activities in the curriculum. The application process of this research continued during the weeks when the subject of sustainable development was discussed. After the application, the same scales were re-applied to both groups as a posttest. SPSS 25.0 statistical analysis package program was used to analyze the data obtained from this study. The results obtained from the research revealed that there was no difference between the pre-test mean scores of the Attitude Scale Towards Sustainable Development of the students in the experimental and control groups, but the post-test mean scores differed significantly in favor of the experimental group. The study results also showed that there was no significant difference between the Comprehensive 21st Century Skills Scale pre-test score of the groups and that the post-test scores showed a statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group.
