Özet
İslamiyet ile yönetilen devletler tarih boyunca geleneksel sanatlara önem vermiştir. Kur'an-ı Kerim'ler dönemlerinin zevk ve anlayışlarına uygun büyük bir titizlik ile işlenmiştir. Osmanlı için Safevi dönemi, tezhip sanatında büyük gelişmelerin olduğu dönemlerden biridir. Kitap sanatına verilen önem ve bu dönemde Safevililer ile olan siyasi etkileşimler tezhip sanatını etkilemiş ve geliştirmiştir. Bu sebeple tezde öncelikle 16. Yüzyıl tezhip anlayışı incelenmiş ve sonrasında Safevi devletinin siyasi tarihi ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada Süleymaniye Yazma Eserler Kütüphanesinde bulunan Sultan Ahmed Koleksiyonu 20 envanter numaralı eserin tezhipleri incelemiştir ve incelenen eserin analizi yapılması üzerine durulmuştur. Bu analiz sonrasında döneme ait kullanılan motifler, kompozisyonlar, renkler detaylı bir şekilde yazılmıştır. İncelenen eserde; zahriye ve serlevha sayfası, karşılıklı yansıma şeklinde tasarlanmıştır. Yoğun tezhip kompozisyonlarına sahip olan bu eserde sure başı tezhipleri aynı formlar kullanılarak ancak içerisinde değişik kompozisyonlar çalışılarak sanatsal çeşitliliğini arttırmıştır. Tezin son kısmında incelenen Kur'an-ı Kerim'den yola çıkılarak, Necm suresinde var olan ve Kur'an-ı Kerim'de adı geçen tek yıldız Şi'ra yıldızı ele alınmıştır. Yorumlanan bu eser takım yıldızının kesişme noktasında 49,9 yılda bir gökyüzünden Cennet'e kapı açılması ve duaların kabul olduğu bu anın tasvir edilmesi üzerine tasarlanmıştır.

Islamic states throughout history have placed significant emphasis on traditional arts. The Qur'ans were meticulously crafted in accordance with the tastes and understanding of their respective periods. The Safavid era was a time of significant development in the art of illumination (tezhip) for the Ottoman Empire. The emphasis placed on book arts and the political interactions with the Safavids during this period influenced and enriched the art of illumination. Therefore, this thesis first examines the 16th-century understanding of illumination and then delves into the political history of the Safavid state. In the study, the illuminations of the manuscript with inventory number 20 from the Sultan Ahmed Collection in the Süleymaniye Manuscript Library were examined, and a detailed analysis of the manuscript was conducted. The motifs, compositions, and colors used during the period are thoroughly detailed following this analysis. The examined manuscript features a frontispiece (zahriye) and a decorative page (serlevha) designed in a reflective manner. The manuscript, characterized by intensive illumination compositions, showcases artistic diversity through surah headings illuminated using similar forms but varying compositions. In the final section of the thesis, inspired by the examined Qur'an, the only star mentioned by name in the Qur'an, the star Sirius (Shi'ra), as referenced in Surah An-Najm, is discussed. The interpreted work is designed to depict the moment of a celestial gateway to Paradise opening every 49.9 years at the intersection of this constellation, during which prayers are believed to be accepted.
