Özet

Çeviri, Kürt edebiyatında hem tarihsel bir faktör olarak hem de güncel bir edebiyat edimi olarak önemli bir yere sahiptir. Kürtçe çeviri tarihsel bir arka plana sahip olup modern Kürt edebiyatının çeşitli dönemlerinde çeviriye dönük çabalar olmuş ve çeviri örnekleri Kürt yayıncılığında yer almıştır. Bununla birlikte, Kürtçe çeviri alanındaki araştırmalar ve Kürtçe çevirilerinin çeviribilime özgü teori, yaklaşım ve kavramlarla analizleri sayı olarak azdır. İçinde bulunduğumuz tarihsel süreçte, çevirinin Kürt edebiyatındaki rolü ve etkisini yorumlayabilmek için teorik ve pratik araştırma örneklerine açıkça ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Söz konusu bu ihtiyaçtan hareketle, bu çalışma teorik bir model çerçevesinde ve analitik bir yaklaşımla Kürtçe çeviri örneklerini konu edinmiş olup Kürtçe çeviri araştırmalarına katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu çerçevede, çalışmamız dokuz Kürtçe çeviri metnini Christiane Nord'un çeviri-odaklı metin analizi adlı modeline göre incelemektedir. Çalışmamızın materyalleri her biri birer edebiyat türünü temsil eden edebiyat çevirisi örneklerinden seçilmiştir. Örnek çeviri metinleri 2000li yıllar sonrasında İngilizceden Kurmanci'ye yapılmış çevirilerle sınırlandırılmıştır. Çeviri metinleri C. Nord'un söz konusu çeviri modeline göre analiz edilmiş, metinlerin edebi eşdeğerlikleri ve çevirilerin amaç ve fonksiyonları ele alınmıştır. Çalışmamızda teorik bir çerçeve ve arka plan oluşturmak amacıyla, çevirinin tarihsel gelişimine yer verdik ve başlıca çeviri teorileri ve kavramlarından söz ettik. Aynı şekilde, Kürtçe çevirinin tarihsel geçmişine, ilk çeviri örneklerine, çeviri ile ilgili yapılmış araştırmalar ve kaleme alınmış yazılara değindik ve çevirinin Kürt edebiyatındaki işlevi ve amacını yorumladık. Çalışmamız hem Kürtçe çeviri serüvenine dair ulaşılan genel sonuçları hem de metin analizleri sonucunda elde edilen verileri sunmaktadır.

The role of translation in Kurdish literature is significant, both as a historical factor and as a current literary act. The Kurdish translation has a historical background, with efforts made towards translation in various periods of modern Kurdish literature. Examples of translation have also been documented in Kurdish publishing. Nevertheless, research in the field of Kurdish translation and analyses of Kurdish translations with theories, approaches and concepts specific to translation studies remain scarce. In the historical process we are in, there is a clear requirement for theoretical and practical research examples in order to interpret the role and impact of translation in Kurdish literature. In response to this need, this study focuses on examples of Kurdish translations within the framework of a theoretical model and an applied method, with the aim of making a contribution to the field of Kurdish translation studies. In this context, our study examines nine Kurdish translated texts according to the model of translation-oriented text analysis proposed by Cristiane Nord. The materials selected for analysis were chosen from examples of literary translations, with each example representing a distinct literary genre. The sample of translated texts was limited to those created from English to Kurmanji from the 2000s onwards. The translated texts were subjected to analysis in accordance with C. Nord's translation model. Additionally, the literary equivalence of the texts, along with the purposes and functions of the translations, were subjected to discussion. In order to establish a theoretical framework and context for our study, we have included an overview of the historical development of translation, as well as an examination of the key translation theories and concepts. Similarly, we have provided an account of the historical background of Kurdish translation, an overview of the earliest translation examples, and a discussion of the research and written articles about translation. We have also commented on the function and purpose of translation in Kurdish literature. The present study offers a comprehensive account of the findings pertaining to the Kurdish translation endeavour, accompanied by a detailed exposition of the data yielded from the textual analyses.
