Özet
Türkiye'de haber yoluyla aktarılan gelişmeler, kadınların en temel hakları olan yaşam hakkından mahrum edildiği yüzlerce olaya işaret etmektedir. Böyle bir durumda toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanması gerçek anlamıyla“hayati”dir. Bu nedenle iletişim alanında yapılan bu tez çalışmasının odağına“toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği”alınmıştır. Gerçeğin kendisini aktardığı algısı nedeniyle medyanın en güvenilir bulunan anlatı türü haberdir. Ancak haber anlatısına neyin dâhil edilip edilmeyeceği noktasında bir tercih ortaya konulmakta burada da ideolojiler belirleyici olmaktadır. Bu yönüyle ana akım medyada haberler, ideolojik söylemi yeniden üreten, cinsiyet eşitsizliğini derinleştiren bir yapıda olabilmekte ve hak ihlallerine yol açabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın konusu olan toplumsal cinsiyet odaklı habercilik, son yıllarda hak haberciliği başlığı altında ele alınan önemli bir kavram konumundadır. Küresel ve ulusal ölçekte yapılan araştırmalar, haber dilinin cinsiyetçi yapısını bir veri olarak ortaya koymaktadır. Literatürde haber metinlerinin cinsiyetçi söylemini ortaya çıkaran çalışmalar çoğunluktadır. Toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğini sağlayacak bir dilin nasıl inşa edilebileceğine dair örnekler ve öneriler ise sınırlıdır. Bu çalışmada Uçan Süpürge Vakfı'nın Türkiye'nin 7 bölgesine yayılmış kadınlarla kapsayıcı bir muhabir ağı oluşturarak toplumsal cinsiyet odaklı habercilik yapma deneyimi sağlayan projesi Yerel Kadın Muhabirler Ağı, 'toplumsal cinsiyet odaklı habercilik dili nasıl inşa edilebilir?' sorusuna yanıt aramak üzere örneklem olarak alınmıştır. Proje kapsamında üretilen 125 haber içeriği, 8 Mart 2023-23 Mart 2024 tarihleri arasında dijital mecralar kullanarak paylaşılmıştır. Tez çalışması kapsamında haber metinleri analiz edilmiş, katılımcıların eğitim durumu, yaşı, haber yazma deneyimi, katıldıkları şehirler bağlamındaki veriler ve projenin sosyal medya hesaplarının etkileşim verileri incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın deneyimlerde ortaklaşan anlamı ortaya koyma hedefi nedeniyle veri setine 4'ten fazla haber üreterek projenin dil ve tema çeşitliliğine katkı sağlayan 10 muhabiri ile derinlemesine görüşmeler de dâhil edilmiş, tüm veriler bütüncül olarak yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliği konusunda farkındalığın yetersiz olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Toplumsal cinsiyet odaklı habercilik deneyiminde kadınların ana akım medyada temsil edildiği dar kalıpların dışında gerçek hayatla uyumlu ve güçlü temsillerine yer verilmiş, ülke ve dünya gündemindeki çok çeşitli temada haber içerikleri üretilmiştir. Bununla birlikte LGBTİ+ bireylere ilişkin temsiller çok sınırlı yer bulabilmiştir. Kullanılan dijital mecralar, çözüm arayışındaki kesimlere dayanışma ve mücadele alanı sağlayan bir zemin olmuştur. Toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğini sorun olarak alan kitlenin dışında dijital medya, tüm dünyaya erişim olanağını barındırsa da filtre baloncukları nedeniyle haberler zaten ilgili olanlara ulaşabilmiştir. Sonuç olarak Yerel Kadın Muhabirler Ağı projesi toplumsal cinsiyet odaklı habercilik için bir pratik alanı yaratması açısından güçlü bir örnek oluşturmuştur. Ancak geniş kitlelerde farkındalık yaratılması için yönetsel, iletişimsel ve toplumsal alanda daha fazla çalışma yapılmasına ihtiyaç vardır.

Developments reported in the news in Türkiye point to hundreds of incidents in which women have been deprived of their most fundamental right, the right to life. In such a situation, ensuring gender equality is truly“vital”. For this reason, this thesis in the field of communication focuses on“gender equality”. News is the most reliable narrative type of the media due to the perception that it conveys the truth itself. However, a preference is made at the point of what to include or not to include in the news narrative, and ideologies are decisive here. In this respect, news in mainstream media can be in a structure that reproduces ideological discourse, deepens gender inequality and may lead to rights violations. Gender-sensitive journalism, which is the subject of this study, is an important concept that has been addressed under the title of rights journalism in recent years. Global and national studies reveal the sexist structure of news language as a data. In the literature, studies revealing the sexist discourse of news texts are the majority. Examples and suggestions on how to construct a language that will ensure gender equality are limited. In this study, the Local Women Reporters Network, a project of the Flying Broom Foundation that provides experience in gender-sensitive journalism by creating an inclusive network of reporters with women spread across 7 regions of Türkiye, is taken as a sample to seek an answer to the question 'how can gender-sensitive journalism language be constructed? The 125 news items produced within the scope of the project were shared using digital media between 8 March 2023 and 23 March 2024. Within the scope of the thesis study, the news texts were analysed, and the participants' education level, age, news writing experience, data in the context of the cities they participated in, and the interaction data of the social media accounts of the project were examined. Due to the aim of the research to reveal the shared meaning in experiences, in-depth interviews with 10 reporters who contributed to the language and theme diversity of the project by producing more than 4 news items were also included in the data set, and all data were interpreted holistically. As a result of the research, it was concluded that awareness on gender inequality is insufficient. In the experience of gender-sensitive journalism, women's representation in the mainstream media has been in harmony with real life and strong representations outside the narrow moulds in which they are represented, and news content has been produced on a wide variety of themes on the agenda of the country and the world. However, representations of LGBTI+ individuals have found very limited space. The digital media used has been a ground that provides solidarity and struggle space for those seeking solutions. Apart from the audience that takes gender equality as a problem, although digital media has the opportunity to access the whole world, due to filter bubbles, the news could reach those who were already interested. In conclusion, the Local Women Reporters Network project has set a strong example in terms of creating a practice area for gender-sensitive journalism. However, there is a need for more work in the managerial, communication and social spheres in order to raise awareness among large masses.
