Özet
Bu çalışmada Safranbolu'da görevli öğretmenlerin bu destinasyona ilişkin geliştirdikleri metaforik algıların belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda öğretmenlerin demografik özellikleri işe koşularak Safranbolu destinasyonuna yönelik turizm, akademi ve eğitim alanları başta olmak üzere muhtelif katkılar üretmek hedeflenmiştir. Alan yazında eğitimcilerin turistik destinasyonlara yönelik algılarının metaforlar yoluyla tez düzeyinde belirlendiği herhangi bir araştırmaya rastlanamaması bu çalışmanın yapılmasına olan ihtiyacı ortaya çıkarmıştır. Yorumlayıcı felsefe yaklaşımından esinlenerek gerçekleştirilen bu nitel araştırma, olgubilim (fenomenoloji) deseni işe koşularak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma, 2024-2025 eğitim-öğretim yılında Karabük ili Safranbolu ilçesinde farklı branş ve kademelerde görevli 51 öğretmenin katılımıyla yürütülmüştür. Katılımcılara nitel veri toplama araçlarından olan 'yarı yapılandırılmış soru formu' uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın yöntemine uygun hazırlanmış bir adet yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme sorusuna katılımcıların demografik özelliklerinin entegre edilmesiyle verilere yönelik derinlikli analiz imkânı sağlanmıştır. Katılımcılara yöneltilen bir adet yarı yapılandırılmış açık uçlu görüşme sorusu,“Safranbolu, ………… gibidir çünkü ………………………...…”metaforik ifade kalıbıyla formun 1. Bölümünde sunulmuştur. İlgili formun 2. Bölümü ise katılımcılara ait demografik bilgilerin talep edildiği kısımdan meydana gelmiştir. Bu bağlamda elde edilen veriler nitel analiz yöntemlerinden olan içerik analiziyle çözümlenmiştir. Verilerin çözümlenmesi neticesinde katılımcıların Safranbolu'ya ilişkin ürettikleri metaforlar 5 kategori altında toplanmıştır. Katılımcıların en çok 'Tarihsel derinlik ve zamansallık'; en az ise 'Kentsel kimlik' kategorilerinde metafor geliştirdikleri görülmüştür. Safranbolu'ya yönelik en sık 'tarih' (4) metaforu üretilirken bunu sırasıyla 'aile' (3) ve 'müze, saklı bir cennet, yuva' (2,2,2) metaforları takip etmiştir. Bu çalışmada elde edilen bulguların değerlendirilmesi sonucunda, öncelikle Safranbolu'nun turizm, eğitim ve akademik ortamlarına dolayısıyla da ilgili paydaşlar ile alan yazına yönelik olarak çeşitli katkılar ortaya konmuştur.

This study aims to identify the metaphorical perceptions developed by the teachers working in Safranbolu regarding this destination. In line with this aim, the study seeks to generate various contributions primarily in the fields of tourism, academia, and education by considering the demographic characteristics of the participating teachers. The absence of thesis-level studies in the literature that explore educators' perceptions of touristic destinations through metaphors revealed the need for this research. Inspired by an interpretivist philosophical approach, this qualitative study was designed within the framework of phenomenology. This study was conducted during the 2024–2025 academic year and involved 51 teachers from various subject areas and educational stages working in the Safranbolu district of Karabük province. A semi-structured interview form, one of the qualitative data collection tools, was used. The integration of participants' demographic characteristics into a semi-structured interview question, developed in line with the methodological framework of this study, enabled a deeper analysis of the collected data. This open-ended interview question, presented in the form of the metaphorical expression“Safranbolu is like ………… because ………………………...… .”was included in the first section of the form. The second section of the form consisted of questions requesting the demographic information of the participants. The data obtained were analyzed using content analysis, a qualitative data analysis technique. As a result of the analysis, the metaphors produced by the participants concerning Safranbolu were grouped into five categories. It was observed that the most frequent metaphors were developed within the category of 'historical depth and temporality' while the fewest were in the category of 'urban identity'. Among the metaphors, 'history' (4) was the most frequently cited, followed by 'family' (3), and 'museum', 'a hidden paradise' and 'home' (each cited 2 times). As a result of the evaluation of the findings obtained in this study, various contributions have been made, within the context of Safranbolu, to the fields of tourism, education, and academia, as well as to the relevant stakeholders and the existing body of literature.
