Özet
Bu tez, otobiyografik solo performansın yaratıcı sürecinde yalnızlık ve tek başınalık pratiğini, yaratıcılığın bireysel ve toplumsal dinamikleri bağlamında incelemektedir. Solo performanslar, yüzeyde tekil bir beden ve öznenin görünümünü öne çıkaran bir form olarak algılanmaktadır. Ancak bu form, çoğu zaman çeşitli ilişkiler ve iş birlikleri aracılığıyla şekillenmektedir. Bu anlamda, bu çalışma“mitleşmiş yalnız sanatçı”figürünü sorgulamakta ve yaratım sürecinin ortak gerçekleşen boyutlarını görünür kılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, yalnızlık ve tek başınalık, yaratıcı sürecin hem kişisel deneyimler hem de toplumsal bağlamlarla ilişkili boyutlarını anlamak için bir mercek olarak ele alınmaktadır. Araştırma, ortaklaşa yaratım (devised theatre) yöntemiyle üretilen solo performans formuna odaklanmaktadır. Bu yöntem, yaratıcı sürecin farklı aşamalarında katılımcılar arasında fikir, deneyim ve materyal paylaşımına dayalı olarak ilerler. Otobiyografik unsurlar, bu süreçte yalnızca bireysel hikâyelerin aktarımı olarak değil; diğer yaratıcıların katkıları, geri bildirimleri ve sahne üzerinde gelişen ortak deneyimlerle yeniden biçimlenen bir yapıda yer alır. Çalışmanın amacı, tekil bir özne üzerinden kurgulanan solo performansın, yaratım sürecinde iş birliği ve ilişkisellik aracılığıyla nasıl dönüştüğünü ve bu süreçte yalnızlık/tek başınalık pratiklerinin nasıl konumlandığını incelemektir. Tez üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, ortaklaşa yaratım tiyatrosunun tarihsel gelişimi ve temel özellikleri ele alınmaktadır. İkinci bölümde, solo performansın kapsamı, otobiyografik solo performansın öznel bileşenleri ve yaratıcı süreçteki yalnızlık ile tek başınalık pratiği kavramsal olarak tartışılmaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde ise On İkinci Ev adlı otobiyografik solo performans örnek olay olarak incelenerek, yalnızlık ve iş birliği dinamiklerinin yaratıcı süreci nasıl biçimlendirdiği analiz edilmektedir. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışma, solo performansın yalnızca bireysel bir anlatı biçimi olmadığı; aksine bireysel ve toplumsal deneyimlerin kesiştiği, ilişkiler ve iş birlikleriyle şekillenen çok katmanlı bir form sunduğunu göstermektedir. Bu tespit hem solo performansın dramaturjik potansiyeline hem de yaratıcı süreçlerde yalnızlık ile iş birliğinin bir arada var olma biçimlerine dair yeni bir bakış açısı sunmaktadır.

This thesis examines the practice of solitude and aloneness in the creative process of autobiographical solo performance, situating it within the individual and social dynamics of creativity. While solo performances may appear to foreground the presence of a single body and subject, this study questions the“mythologised solitary artist”figure and reveals how the creation process is shaped through various relationships and collaborations. In this context, solitude and aloneness are approached as lenses through which both the personal and socially embedded dimensions of the creative process can be understood. The research focuses on the form of solo performance produced through the devised theatre method. This approach unfolds through the exchange of ideas, experiences, and materials among participants at different stages of the creative process. Autobiographical elements, within this framework, are not merely presented as individual narratives; rather, they are reshaped through the contributions, feedback, and shared on-stage experiences of other creatives. The aim of the study is to explore how a solo performance, constructed around the appearance of a single subject, is in fact transformed through collaboration and relationality, and to investigate the position of solitude/aloneness practices within this process. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter discusses the historical development and main characteristics of devised theatre. The second chapter examines the scope of solo performance, the subjective components of autobiographical solo performance, and the practice of solitude and aloneness in the creative process from a conceptual perspective. The third chapter presents a case study of the autobiographical solo performance On İkinci Ev (The Twelfth House), analysing how the dynamics of solitude and collaboration shape its creative process. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that solo performance is not merely an individual form of storytelling, but rather a multilayered form shaped by relationships and collaborations, where individual and social experiences intersect. This finding offers new insights into both the dramaturgical potential of solo performance and the ways in which solitude and collaboration can coexist within creative processes.
