Özet
Bu çalışma, İslam tasavvurunu mimariye yansıtma konusunda derin bilgiye sahip olan Turgut Cansever'in Antalya Karakaş Camii projesini konu edinmektedir. Cami yaptırma derneğinin özel arşiv belgelerine ulaşılmasıyla, yapım süreci bütüncül olarak incelenmiştir. Bu çerçevede inşa organizasyonu, süreçteki aşamalar, görev alan kişi ve kurumlar ile kullanılan malzemeler ele alınmıştır. Araştırma; bürokratik yazışmalar, inşaat günlükleri, albümler ve çizimlerden oluşan ve daha önce yayımlanmamış arşiv belgeleri üzerinden yürütülmüş, Karakaş Camii arşiv verileri ışığında inşa süreci odaklı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Tez kapsamında, ikinci bölümde Antalya şehrinin genel yapısı, caminin kent içindeki konumu ve yıkılan eski Karakaş Camii'nin tarihi ve mimari özellikleri fotoğraflar eşliğinde ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde derneğin kuruluş süreci, eski caminin yıkımı, ruhsatlı başka bir mimar tarafından hazırlanan projenin devre dışı bırakılarak sürecin Cansever'e aktarılması ve Cansever'in proje detayları incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde ayrıca derneğin ve halkın talepleri ile Cansever'in bu taleplere yaklaşımı değerlendirilmektedir. Tezin ana gövdesini oluşturan dördüncü bölümde ise Karakaş Camii'nin temelden çatıya, kiremitten altıgen çinilere kadar adım adım inşa süreci aktarılmış; bu süreçte olan gelişmelerin sürecin yorumlanmasına etkisi, Cansever'in teknik bilgisi, proje yönetimi gibi konular bu bölümde incelenmiştir. Kronolojik olarak ilerleyen beşinci bölümde ise caminin açılışından günümüze kadar devam eden, halen tamamlanamamış kısımlar ve güncel kullanım sorunları ele alınmıştır. Sonuç bölümünde ise arşiv belgelerine dayanarak Karakaş Camii'nin inşa süreci bütüncül biçimde değerlendirilmiştir.

This study focuses on Turgut Cansever's Antalya Karakaş Mosque project, reflecting his profound knowledge of translating Islamic concepts into architecture. Access to the mosque construction association's special archive documents has enabled a comprehensive examination of the construction process. Within this framework, the construction organisation, the stages of the process, the individuals and institutions involved in the process, and the materials used have been examined. The research was conducted using previously unpublished archive documents consisting of bureaucratic correspondence, construction diaries, albums, and drawings, and the construction process was evaluated based on the Karakaş Mosque archive data. Within the scope of the thesis, the second chapter examines the general structure of the city of Antalya, the location of the mosque within the city, and the historical and architectural features of the old Karakaş Mosque, which was demolished, accompanied by photographs. The third chapter examines the establishment process of the association, the demolition of the old mosque, the transfer of the process to Cansever after the project prepared by another licensed architect was shelved, and the details of Cansever's project. This section also evaluates the demands of the association and the public and Cansever's approach to these demands. The fourth section, which forms the main body of the thesis, describes the construction process step by step, from the foundations of the Karakaş Mosque to its roof, from its tiles to its hexagonal tiles. This section examines the developments in this process, Cansever's technical knowledge, and its impact on project management. The fifth chapter, which proceeds chronologically, addresses the ongoing problems since the mosque's opening, the unfinished sections, and the current usage issues. In the conclusion, the construction process of the Karakaş Mosque is comprehensively evaluated based on archival documents.
