Özet
Bu çalışma, Tunceli ilinde yaşayan 0-6 ay arası bebeği olan annelerin emzirme motivasyonu ile mental iyi oluş düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Araştırma, 15 Eylül 2024 ile 15 Şubat 2025 tarihleri arasında, Tunceli il merkezi ve ilçelerinde aile hekimliklerine kayıtlı 151 primipar emziren anne ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler, Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu, Emzirme Motivasyon Ölçeği ve Mental İyi Oluş Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. İstatistiksel analizlerde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, bağımsız örneklem t testi, One-Way ANOVA ve non-parametrik testler (Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis) uygulanmış olup, p<0.05 anlamlılık düzeyi kabul edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, annelerin emzirme motivasyon puanlarının orta-üst düzeyde (71.55±10.52) ve mental iyi oluş puanlarının yüksek düzeyde (54.97±8.03) olduğunu göstermektedir. Ayrıca, emzirme motivasyonu ile mental iyi oluş arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir pozitif ilişki bulunmuştur (r=0.42, p<0.01). Sonuçlar, planlı gebelik, emzirme eğitimi alma, sadece anne sütü verme ve erken emzirme başlangıcının her iki ölçek puanını olumlu etkilediğini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu bulgular, emzirme konusunda motivasyonu yüksek olan annelerin aynı zamanda daha yüksek mental iyi oluş düzeylerine sahip olduklarını göstermektedir. Araştırma, annelere yönelik emzirme danışmanlığı ve psikososyal destek programlarının yaygınlaştırılmasını önermektedir.

This study aimed to examine the relationship between breastfeeding motivation and mental well-being levels among mothers with infants aged 0-6 months living in Tunceli province. The research was conducted between September 15, 2024, and February 15, 2025, with 151 primiparous breastfeeding mothers registered at family health centers in the central city and districts of Tunceli province. Data were collected using the Sociodemographic Information Form, Breastfeeding Motivation Scale, and Mental Well-Being Scale. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and non-parametric tests (Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis), with a significance level of p<0.05. The research findings indicate that the breastfeeding motivation scores of the mothers were at a medium-high level (71.55±10.52) and their mental well-being scores were at a high level (54.97±8.03). Additionally, a statistically significant positive correlation was found between breastfeeding motivation and mental well-being (r=0.42, p<0.01). The results reveal that planned pregnancy, receiving breastfeeding education, exclusive breastfeeding, and early initiation of breastfeeding positively affect both scale scores. These findings show that mothers with high breastfeeding motivation also have higher levels of mental well-being. The study recommends the widespread implementation of breastfeeding counseling and psychosocial support programs for mothers.
