Özet
Sanat eserlerinin, antik çağlardan günümüze kadar yalnızca estetik değil, aynı zamanda kültürel ve toplumsal statü göstergesi olarak değerlendirilen simgesel nesneler olarak değerlendirildiği düşünülmektedir. Tarihsel süreçte sanatın anlamı ve işlevi, toplumsal yapının değişimine bağlı olarak dönüşmüş; başlangıçta dini temsillerin aracı iken, zamanla sınıfsal ayrımın görünür bir ifadesine dönüştüğü izlenmiştir. Sanayi Devrimi sonrasında hız kazanan üretim-tüketim ilişkilerinin, sanat eserlerini tüketime dayalı bir statü göstergesi konumuna taşıdığı dikkat çekilmektedir. Postmodern toplumda, bireyin statü kazanma arzusu doğrultusunda tüketim odaklı statü arayışı, eşsiz ve özgün sanat eserlerine duyulan ilgiyi artırmış; bu durum, sanat eserinin arzını ve ekonomik değerini de doğrudan etkilemiştir. Sanat, bu bağlamda kültürel bir birikimden çok, sembolik sermaye unsuru olarak algılanmıştır. Bu nedenle toplumun sanat eserine yaklaşımı, sanatın estetik niteliğini ikinci plana atarak, onu sahip olma yoluyla statü edinme aracına indirgemiştir. Bu durum, tüketim toplumunda yalnızca sahip olduklarıyla değil, ulaşamadıklarıyla da tanımlanan bireylerde, yoksunluk ve eksiklik hissi yaratmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında, oluşan sanat eseri sahipliğinin statüsel bir sermaye olarak görülmesi olgusu, bir sorunsal olarak öne çıkmış ve araştırmaya değer bulunmuştur. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiş olup, çalışma kapsamında yazılı ve basılı kaynaklar, çevrim içi veriler ile görsel literatür üzerinden elde edilen bilgiler değerlendirilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, verilen analizinde betimsel bir tutum izlenmiş elde edilen bulgular, konuya ilişkin kurumsal çerçeveyle ilişkilendirilerek yorumlanmıştır

From ancient times to the present, works of art have been considered symbolic objects, not only aesthetically pleasing but also indicators of cultural and social status. Throughout history, the meaning and function of art have evolved in response to the changing social structure; initially a tool for religious representation, it has gradually evolved into a visible expression of class distinction. It is noteworthy that the production-consumption relationship that accelerated after the Industrial Revolution has transformed works of art into a consumption-based status indicator. In postmodern society, the consumption-driven pursuit of status, driven by an individual's desire for status, has increased interest in unique and original works of art, directly impacting the supply and economic value of artworks. In this context, art has been perceived as an element of symbolic capital rather than a cultural heritage. Therefore, society's approach to works of art has relegated art's aesthetic value to the background, reducing it to a means of acquiring status through possession. This creates a sense of deprivation and lack in individuals in a consumer society who are defined not only by what they possess but also by what they cannot attain. In this thesis, the concept of artistic ownership as status capital was highlighted as a problematic issue and deemed worthy of investigation. A qualitative research approach was adopted in the study, which evaluated information obtained from written and printed sources, online data, and visual literature. Accordingly, a descriptive approach was employed in the analysis, and the findings were interpreted in relation to the relevant institutional framework.
